Can take out IU???

Hi,

 

I got a irritating noise form my dash during high rev and i suspect its coming from my IU. However to confirm it, is it possible to pluck my IU out of my car and pluck it back after testing the car without it? Many thanks.

 

Nore: of cos i dun mean to break any regulation here and will test on a ulu road.

Not too sure if can take the IU out by yourself as the unit is pretty secured.

 

I would recommend you to head to any Viacom or STA test centre that checks the IU unit to help you with it.

 

Also, I had this problem before and it seems like something is loose and causing the sound from the front of the dashboard. Had it checked by my mechanic and it was determined to be a loose engine mount.

 

Suggest you to get it checked by a mechanic as they will be able to help listen and isolate the problem.

ur IU has a holder, just take out the IU from the holder and maybe leave it on the dash and give it a try.

 

i had friends disconnect the IU while competing in car audio competitions.

no law against driving w/o IU.

 

as long as you don't go through active ERP gantries w/o IU,

there'll be no consequence.

S$5/day ? if those who use CTE everyday to and fro work, take out IU more worth it.......not sure if same rule applies for Sin registered car....

Don't think it's illegal to take out. But it's illegal to go through an ERP gantry without a valid IU. Haha...
