Hi,

I have been to komoco for servicing since I got my avante in Oct' 07. (SGM)

Each time they do tyre balancing and rotation for me, the car would pull to the left. and I would have to go back to them to correct it. And it will be fine.

This month I just went for servicing at a workshop at AMK autopoint. When they lifted the car, they discovered that the right rear tyre is balding on the inside. They told me that there is an alignment problem. Strange thing is that the car still drive straight...

So I brought new types, balance them and installed them in the car. The car started to pull to the left again. Just like the case with komoco.

So I went to do my alignment. They adjusted the toe of some wheels that went 'off', but most imptly, inform me that the right rear wheel's 'camber' is off by 0.8 degree and that the advante's rear suspension cannot adjust that.

So right now, my car still pull left after the alignment... what should I do?

Is this a manufacturing fault? Can I claim in under warranty?

So far my mileage is 55k.

Thanks..

Your sin ming contact can confirm fix the issue? if so I want. But how is he going to fix it? Will the fix be permanent?

There will be many experts here helping you out with your car pulling left issue.

But I can say the defective camber on your rear right wheel is the one that is causing your uneven tyre wear on that corner.

However, I don't think this is related with your car pulling left which should be due to front wheels alignment factors- toe, castor or camber.

I see,

I did my alignment at stamford type loyang.. they told me the problem is due to my rear right tyre..

what should I do?

from what i know, the basic torsion beam suspension cannot be 'aligned'

it's either accident, or manufacturing defect. if accident, apparently the torsion beam can be bent back but the alignment will not be 100%.

0.8 degree is significant, imho... but dunno how u wanna settle with KMC

last time my legacy also had this problem for a while.

i swop left and right tyre at the front and problem solve.

I see, so far there is no accident... The car was one of the first batch of avante.. collected at the time when hyundai's worker got strike... haiz

I also dun noe how to settle with KMC.. considering that I drove it for nearly 3 years and the tyre even though is balding on the inside... lasted me 55km..

So I also dun know what to do..

Is the pulling to the left very great or just mild when u let go of the steering wheel at 80km/h..

Just my 2 cents tht SG road are build slanting slightly to the left..so if just minor pulling its ok to me when above 80km/h..

Moreover if your car pulling to the right then a big problem need to check for..

Cheers just sharing..different ppl different opinion.. [sweatdrop][sweatdrop]

Actually you should not change the right rear inside-balding tire. Now you have nothing to show komoco. But you can try and ask them to review your service history. This kinda case cannot be easily spotted physically by the naked eye, it's thru the tire wear that the AD will notice.

Check and see if the workshop still have your bald tire. Do a swap... [laugh]

erm, if I am doing 80km at the centre of my lane, and I left off my hand.

I would cut into the left lane in around 5 seconds.

I guess I should go back to my workshop to see if they still have the type.....
