I am tired of my slow broadband speed that I am getting from my Starhub Hubstation (it's free, so can't complain) and would like to do a survey before I decide to sign the contract with my next ISP. Need you guys to help out...

1) Indicate your bandwidth package

2) Go to Speedtest.net.

3) After test, click on "Copy Forum Link" & paste your test results.

Thanks a lot!

Here's mine..test done with just me as a single user without any other downloads & uploads.

ISP Package: Hubstation 1mb

As you guys can see, it is pathetic. [thumbsdown]

Wow, getting more than what you paid for! [thumbsup] Do you have any MIO TV?

It will be interesting to see the results for those using SingNet with Mio TV & those using mobile broadband.

Speed for Starhub broadband depends on factors like when you are using it. Go Singtel. M1 I have not tried, but heard their mobile broadband really terrible, but again depends on where you stay and when u use it.

Something fishy... am about to jumpship next month, so perhaps I'm getting good throughput to make me re-contract.

I'm on a 8mbps Singnet Broadband plan. I'm very happy with it. Blazingly fast.

Am surprised by the speedtest results. It's even faster than what I actually signed up for. It's even faster on my wife's mac. She's getting 9.8mb/s.

Neutral Newbie

Speed tests websites doesnt tell anything. In order to attain max speed, the server u r downloading from must be able to support the speed of your broadband plan. Most public websites & file servers dont even support more than 0.5mbps download speed. Therefore, for general websurfin, there is no advantage in using a 8mbps plan as to a 1 mbps plan.

I get different results, each time I test:

First, 7.92 mb/s,

then 2.48 mb/s,

then 3.45 mb/s,

then 8.62 mb/s,

and, 9.18 mb/s.

I'm subscrbed to SingTel 8 mb/s plan

Yup, unlimited video on demand comes as a package with Mio Home.

I was on starhub broadband before I switched camp. Singnet somehow provide a much stable connection for my area.
