Please share your current mileage too.

Thanks

My car mileage  is around 34,000km. I sent to Bukit Timah Tan Chong for checking. Mr Kwek, the service manager is very helpful and professional. He checked my engine compartment and diagnosed is the gearbox issue which  caused the engine noise very loud. He even offered me a temporary loan rental car to drive and he mentioned to me safety is Tan Chong top priority. It may breakdown anytime. Kudos to Mr. Kwek to have such a good employee in Bukit Timah Tan Chong

Tks for the sharing. Fortunately that it is still under warranty and the replacement of it will come at none of your expenses. My mileage is currently 40k km and will take more notice of the engine compartment noise. Besides this factor, any other factors such as sluggishness in gear change etc did you encounter for the gearbox issue? I came across one Malaysian Sylphy owner encountering similar issues but unsure if it was for the previous or current variant.

Was the loan courtesy car also a Nissan and comes with in-car camera?

Tks for sharing mate.

Yes, when change gear can feel  the lack of power and it is symptom of gearbox faulty.

The loan courtesy car is also the same model as my existing car which Mr. Kwek specially requested for but without in-car camera

After driving for only 1 year and 7.5 months, (50k) my battery failed. No choice but to call the 24hrs battery service, and was changed $185 for the battery and workmanship.

This is the first time I experienced battery failure less then 2 years of used. My past experience battery lasted more than 3 years. Maybe my higher usage of the car. Anyone experience battery failed before 2 years? Stock battery.

Yes, I change my air-con filter every 15K, the one I've now is 20K, changing soon. I got the filter from TaoBao.

The China ones are slightly longer, I just cut it to size and change it. Changing is not difficult; just need a torque driver to remove the gloves box for easier accessing to the filter. I got my torque driver in TaoBao too.

Hi bro, hope your car is ok.

Are you driving the current B17 or previous G11 model?

I used to drive the G11 1.5L 4 speed auto model and it didn't give me any trouble. But one thing to note for the current B17 model is it runs on a JATCO CVT gearbox and it is very sensitive to the type of CVT transmission fluid used. I believe your engine cover should specify the type of CVT fluid, i.e. NS-2 or NS-3 and please don't swop it with OEM CVT fluid or even use the normal Nissan AT fluid (comes in a pink metal container).

Back in 2013 when I was still driving my Sylphy, I spoke to one of the owner of a C11 Latio at the Tan Chong Service Centre. He did tell me he experienced a constant low pitch ''whining'' sound when the vehicle creeps and starts to move below 30 km/hr. Once above 30 km/hr, the sound stops. Tan Chong advise him to change the CVT fluid and monitor and if the sound still continues, the recommended course of action is to overhaul the box.

hmmm sound like my sylphy now. there is a low pitch whining sound when moving. it started around 20-30k km mileage. sometime my car will have less power, like do not pick up as fast as usual and usually this happens when the sound is a bit louder. it not loud til u will hear it instantly but just a low pitch sound if you pay a bit of attention to it. Seems like it is time to change the CVT fluid, NS3 for B17

How do you change gear in a Slyphy when it is on CVT which means infinite number of gears? Just very curious about your observation.
