Its basically a "de-bloated" version of Vista, so it runs quicker and can be used on hardware which is below Vista's min requirements (e.g. Netbooks). Bebopzone Neutral Newbie July 8, 2009 Share July 8, 2009 My friend just told me that Windows 7 must be upgraded from Vista .... cannot fresh install ... is that true? Actually Microsoft recommends you do a fresh install for W7. You can't do a proper upgrade from vista to 7 or worse still from XP to

Nolicense Turbocharged July 8, 2009 Share July 8, 2009 (edited) Actually all my upgrades have ended in BSOD or CMI. From Win2k to XP to watever.. I always do fresh install, faster and no complications. Too much trouble to do upgrades.. Edited July 8, 2009 by Nolicense
Elfenstar 3rd Gear July 8, 2009 Share July 8, 2009 My friend just told me that Windows 7 must be upgraded from Vista .... cannot fresh install ... is that true? No lah. Not true. They're even planning an "upgrade pack" (read as: cheaper) for XP users, but its essentially a fresh install.
