I tried OBD-Tuning on my BMW 3 series, did not work. No noticeable improvement. The name OBD-Tuning is a bit of a misnomer. They don't do any custom tuning, just load a standard off-the-shelf ECU map for your car model. Everything is done in less than 30 minutes with no dyno or road tune, just software load to your stationary car. Mine was done in the car park. If you want to try, make sure you get a 7-day money back guarantee if not satisfied in writing. Then if you do not see any improvement after the software load, ask for your money back within the 7 days.

after reading your post i sien liao [:(] , maybe will go the piggy back & EBC path.

guess urs a CVR?

consider uni-chip or e-manage.

if there's reflash, go for reflash

NA engine... wat sort of significant gain do u wan.....

U cannot expect much gains from NA engine.... to be frank, there is no real need for road or dyno tune for NA cars, since the air fuel ratio will not fluctuate much... if the map comes from a reputable tuner, then fair enuf... if it comes from some backyard local tuner... then i wld say u wld have been cheated.

did my tuning with andrewvtw. he's good.

for my impreza ts 1.6, he managed to squeeze 113hp at 5000rpm, up from the stock 95hp. torque results were more encouraging for me as he managed to get it up to 165nm at 3100rpm from 148nm at 4000rpm. so now my peak torque is much2 earlier.

Road tune or on crank? If on crank, you will have to deduct certain percentage of the gained.

dyno tuned. yep, theres 2 charts. at flywheels and at the wheels. 113hp and 165nm torque is at flywheels since manufacturer always quote figures at flywheels. on wheels is 90+ps compared to 78ps before. cant remember the torque at the wheels. mine is AWD so on wheels will be much more lesser.

but if u ask me wether my car is more driveable, more eager on the get go, more responsive. then my answer is yes. i no longer worry about holding up traffic when traffic light turns green.

Has anyone done Unichip tuning at Gary Engineering? He has a Japanese staff that does road tuning for Unichip. Wonder how good they are compared to Andrew, the freelance tuning that people recommend on the forum?

Hey bros, my ride is a swiss pork, just want to find out what's the significant difference between ecu reflash and piggyback ecu.

I believe for performance, a re-flashed ecu will be better as it doesn't rely on the piggyback so it doesn't need to adhere to fixed values?

The downside i'm guessing is that there is totally $0 re-sale value?

There's a guy in 1 of the forums posting this:

(2) unichipQ set

1x unichip Q

1x unclip module

It like 2 unichip going for $400 neg

I do not quite understand what he meant by unclip module and the claims of 2 unichip???

Is the value of $400 too expensive?

I would really appreciate the advice bros here can give me, thanks!

Hi guys, I am super new to this forum and dealing with car performance stuff. However, just some introduction here. I am driving a suzuki swift 1.5 L Auto gearbox. I changed my air intake to a simota carbon charger recently. I want to tune my ECU, either by BMS motorsport (using unichip) or OBD tuning. However like i said earlier on, i have no experience in this field. So I hope i can get some advice here, Would appreciate if anyone is driving a similar swift and tuned their ride at any of these places before to share with me.

Thanks very much :D
