Latioboy 1st Gear October 25, 2009 Share October 25, 2009 Hello bro. If you may allow me to share my humble 2 cents. my dad didnt manage to pump due to the overwhelming queue yesterday but we pumped before the promo launch. Weird thing is that, for both cars, both cars had equally 2 tanks of the new Shell Fuel save, Ron 95, and funny thing is, for that total 4 tanks for both cars, it reported a spike in FC. For Sylphy, it increase from 11.2km/l to only 10.5km/l For the Cefiro, it reported 7.5km/l increase to 6.7km/l. Maybe it could be the shell too good then my parents zua more petrol, but doesnt really make sense. Now watching out for the 3rd tank. Jus my humble 2 cents worth! Any bros got any comments for the fc as well as performance any difference? Sucks.... I tried Fuelsave 98 two weeks ago and I hated it. That's why i didn't even bother to queue up for the $1 petrol although there's a shell station is only a few hundred meters away from my house... especially seeing how long the queue was... I cannot comment on the FC coz i was driving like a maniac these couple of weeks (have been rushing from point to point) but the overall responsiveness between the Shell 98 is not as good as Caltex 98.... The FC about same, anyway, yesterday pump full tank and waited only for 20 mins at 12pm. Sadly my full tank is less than 40L.

Jus my humble 2 cents worth! sounds like sai. i never tried shell diesel, but van forums report tt shell diesel not so good. from feedback, seems to me like it's the worst. but before this fuel save thingy, i heard good things abt shell petrol. so i really dunno what's up. anyway, i still believe that different cars may react differently to different brands. so it pays to experiment a bit. and not be conned by marketing hype. for instance, caltex introduced this new diesel formula, supposedly less foam. indeed it's true. then i pumped SPC, also ZERO foam. i guess that the technology is available to all companies and they are likely to be quite on par. unlike some countries with "supermarket brand fuel" which may be inferior to brand-name fuels fuelsave formula can save 1 liter per tank? that's a mere 2 percent based on 50 liter tank. if drive carefully, savings more than 15%. keep tires well-inflated, can save at least 5%. so can feel the diff in fuelsave? i doubt it. Gary84 1st Gear October 25, 2009 Share October 25, 2009 didnt manage to benefit from the $1 petrol cos queue was simply too long...however my frd on a 1.8 Altis mentioned that his FC improved frm a 12/L to a 18/L..... on Fuelsave
XsenseX 1st Gear October 25, 2009 Share October 25, 2009 People who interested to test the fuel will drive 'slower' unconsciously hoping for better mileage so they feel good. People who ain't interested will just go as per normal & even step hard in a few instances ... after which report back negative reviews. Its a cat and mouse game. Lol
Kb27 Supersonic October 25, 2009 Share October 25, 2009 The way that Shell market the fuelsave seemed to be that they added some kind of lightweight oil for upper cylinder lubrication. Some people have already been doing this with 2T oil and reported better mileage, but some didn't. Redline SI-1 also contains UCL. So I didn't think this was any kind of breakthrough. Just a different way of selling your product to the man-in-the-street. ↡ Advertisement
