Hows the new Shell petrol?

I am driving Civic and on my 2nd tank of Fuelsave 95 now. Frankly I am having mixed opinion on the fuel.

1st full tank - more lethargic and not as powerful. Used to feel the vrroooomz (not boomz) effect after pumping full tank but couldnt feel it with Fuelsave 95.

2nd full tank - Still don't feel the same vrrooomz effect but somehow my ride seems to be more smooth....

Honestly, I will take back the original 95 anytime.... [drivingcar]

Me prefer the old 95 too!

Just drove to Tuas South and back. Felt the engine is smoother but felt I need to step harder when accelerating. [sweatdrop]

[flowerface] Once it got to speed, felt more smooth than last time.

Agree with you that the FuelSave 98 has no power at all though it feels smoother compared to Caltex. The overall mileage of using FuelSave 98 is worst than using Caltex 98.

Caltex 98 is still the better! [thumbsup]

I also find it gives less power, but somehow engine seems smoother... and maybe even quieter.

Can't feedback on FC yet though, only my first tank.

Wanted to actually pump the fuel but due to the long ait i decided goin across the border instead and pump my usual Esso F1 which gives me better mileage..compared to SPC(Sg),Shell or petronas.I can achieve 130km from 60L to 45L whereas i coul only achieve 90.5 km on shell V-power and 120 km from petronas.

Wow... for the fuel to make so much difference, you must have a super-sensitive butt.

For me, even if pump V-power, I also cannot tell difference. (Normally I pump 92/95)

Wonder is it because I always drive at about 3K rpm...

HeeHee...no lah [blush] If truth be told, the difference was very small and only just perceptible. But I'm quite sure that there was NO power loss as some of the feedback here suggests.

Hmmm..... wonder could it be gasohol in disguise???

RON numbers can be similar compared to that of Benzene (petrol) but no power...... I wonder why.

My low fuel warning indicator was on when I pumped 46 litres of Shell 98 on Saturday morning.

I had always been pumping Esso 95.

Immediately, I felt a lack of power, as if my tyres are underinflated. Pick up was slower and felt like the car was dragging. Overall I did not feel any additional power despite it being 98RON, but the loss in power was obvious.

Late last night, my low fuel warning indicator came on and I pumped 45 litres of Esso 95 and immediately I felt the power again.

Even on a cold engine this morning, my car engine felt more powerful than running on Shell 98 at operational temperature.

There was also a 5% increase in fuel consumption on Shell 98 Fuelsave.

There was no change in my driving pattern and habit.

I felt this new Shell Fuelsave petrol is disappointing and inferior, and would not use it again.
