Othello Supersonic November 18, 2009 Share November 18, 2009 (edited) feels good to have my problems rectified today !! 1st - as some of you guys know, my rear door lock jammed. ha - quoted 500+ for lock + labour servo - touch this touch that, after 30 mins in the end say cannot, must pull out door card by force to gain access to internal panel (thus might damage it in the process). lock cost 200+ somemore they lost my plastic door thingy (the one that pop up & down) and left the power window switch dangling after removing it (small matter but still slightly pissed) lastly, on limlien's recommendation, went to wkshop at tuas. mech there took 15 mins to remove door card w/o damaging it, and opened the door in another 20 mins. kudos to them and these guys do not specialise in skodas i gave servo 2nd chance & they chose to disappoint me again 2nd thing - there's sound when i turn. again, servo failed to diagnose the prob. philip said could be steering rack & cost 1000+. went to Elite drive shaft specialist (again limlien's rec) and they diagnose as steering pump faut. well, they changed one and the sound seems to have gone away. well, will monitor for next few days. verdict - 1. HUGE tks to limlien "tks bro ! " 2. servo really sucks BIG time !! no way i'm going back ever again !! Othello Supersonic November 19, 2009 Author Share November 19, 2009 (edited) it seems that they have lost the touch or simply cant be bothered to do repairs nowadays. Well, I guess their main jobs now are MOD jobs and simple servicing (which any tom, dick harry can do). There's no point once confidence and perception of quality is gone. Will bring my car to ALDAN (correct spelling?) @ AMK autopoint next time. This wkshop does the skoda cabs and several of our guys have gone to them before. Incidently, the Tuas wkshop is related to ALDAN. Tuas one specialised in BMWs and the young mech there is good in diagnostics. He straightaway told me with confidence "most likely actuator spoilt" Dun anyone suggest SARBO to me again Edited November 19, 2009 by Othello

Othello Supersonic November 20, 2009 Author Share November 20, 2009 TM, they can service our cars too. Just that they do not have the diagnostic tools there. When I was there, saw an AUDI there too. I believe we can bring our own parts there (Will ask and confirm) Will check his prices & post his contact tmr.

Beanoyip Turbocharged November 25, 2009 Share November 25, 2009 So summarise, which workshop do you recommend? Is it the AMK autopoint one?
Limlien Clutched November 25, 2009 Share November 25, 2009 For the older Superb i will definately recommend that you all go to aldan motors at 2nd level. All the stocks and spares are available for you to choose. For the Oct u can try the tuas one becoz they could be cheaper. However only Aldan motors have all the oils suctions and diagnoistic for skoda. So it's ur choice! Aldan is market pricing, the one at tuas is reasonable pricings. Othello Supersonic November 25, 2009 Author Share November 25, 2009 ok, Will post the wkshop details here. Conti G Pte Ltd Caltex Ahmad Ibrahim Service Station 400 Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim Singapore 629153 (Pioneer) Look for Beng Hua 62655468 As Limlien has pointed out, he does not have the diagnostics tools. But can go for normal oil change and can seek him out first if there's a prob with your rides. TM - Labour for oil change -> S$25. But doubt he have the oil filter. I'll be still gong to my own wkshop for servicing (Opp KK) and others. Only when they cant handle, then I might try out ALDAN next. Tuas one a tad too far for me.
