Recommend you to buy NCD protector after all the years of building up your NCD! (:

============

Never really needed it b4 cos never had serious accident b4.

Only small accident which I settle privately. Never involve insurance.

Either I go their ws or they use my ws depending on who is in the wrong. But now even small bump, pple want to go agent to repair which is very expensive. [sweatdrop]

Now so far, no more accidents so I guess that time maybe I had too much bad luck. [lipsrsealed]

Yes..sort of. Max speed at 170km/h and reach KL in just 2++ hours.

Funny thing is I don't even feel I was going fast. The car was very stable.

But when reach KL and the gearbox has to face start-stop again, it started to behave erratic. Sometimes can't drop gear, sometimes can't upshift. Hence, sometimes it will stalled.

But SA did a great job in repairing the gearbox.

No more redline for continuous 2 hours again next time.

=============

Maybe your bearings loose already. U might need a complete engine overhaul.

Constant redlining on our small engines is not too healthy.

After many 160kph trips my Aveo now acting strange. I think I worn off a couple of piston rings. Engine now has Gong gong gong gong noise accelerating. Like the Star Wars Speed Racer sound.

Got to see what can be done. Around 2 more years before breakeven.

===============

If u always do high speed driving, maybe its better to consider a biger cc car. Small engines cannot take too much high revs on long journeys.

Get an old COE Merc also better cos that engine can take alot or abuse. Another car built like a tank.

Already in for overhaul. Need it to be alive for another 2.5yrs. I think I lost lots of power due to 1 or 2 cold cylinders. I think the valves need work as well. No major oil leak as far as I can see under the car the few days before I sent it in.

I can't fault the Aveo. The engine and its layout is super simple. You driving the Optra should know how simple these GMDAT cars are. The only thing I can fault it is the ABS. For a simple such a simple car, the ABS makes it a little more comlicated. I'm getting faulty ABS signal when I reverse and then it stays on. I believe this has to do with it's simple suspension setup. The car is a rough tractor and over harsh speed bumps, the ABS sensors will get damaged.

I think the ABS isn't much of a problem with the Optra or Cruze thanks to their better suspension setup.

Your ion plasma accelerator cables are loose, please re-plug them back ala the Anakin method.... [laugh]

The racer is now in Watto's workshop. PR there for 5 days for overhaul. After that, I will pursue Darth Maul and go on to win the race against Sebulba's podracer.

Maybe after the overhaul, u sud treat it more gentle. Hopefully then it wont give u any more problems.

I find the Optra pretty basic & easy to DIY but slightly more "advanced" than the Corona.

So far my ABS & other stuff r working fine. But I treat my car gentler than how u treat your Aveo. [laugh]

If it was a Jap car, I wud consider keeping it past the 10 years but as a Korean, I might have trouble getting parts after it passes 10 years. Scrap yards dont carry Korean car parts like they do the Jap cars.

If Song Yi can assure me they wil carry all major parts, then I might still consider extending the COE.

for the money, i think the basic Cruze 'S' is a better buy over the 4 year old Aveo...

it has better built, larger interior space and better design...

that said, the 1.6L 103bhp engine is really sluggish...performance worse than Aveo leh...

cruze because the interior is nicer and it's newer. You will regret getting an old design car when you start to see the newer cars on the road!

whoa...

now Cruze cheaper by $2,000 compared to the Forte leh...

it's a much better buy compared to the Forte i must say...

compared to Aveo though, well it depends...

if you don't want to always knock your head everytime you go in and out of the car (1.7m and above ppl might notice this), then

get the AVEO...for everything else, get the Cruze...

small engine AT cars normally have high FC, sometimes as high as 2L AT cars. Very poor efficiency.

Get the Cruze 1.8, 1.6 seem underpowered.

If power is what 1 is after, then should forget abt cruze...

even 1.8 also no power 1... maybe more driveable than the 1.6 thats all. Somemore >10k more ex for 0.2L displacement.

just see wish's weight to power ratio vs Cruze's power to weight, u will find that Cruze has the weight of an MPV and thus the power will be like 1.
