What if the surface of the headlight is rough and blur and not yellowish, still can use tootpaste to clean off? [:/]

By right, you should sand it using grade 2k or 3k for the scratches. Then with toothpaste.

Myself experience this last Saturday, was cleaning my gf 16yrs old car. Left headlight was yellow and dull while the other is clear but vapour.

After cleaning with toothpaste, it does help and improve but not to the condition as the right.

I also apply some turtle wax for scratches removal

Well, this sat, i will clean again. Hopefully i can make two of them bright as before.

I believe there is vendors that does cleaning up for interior of headlights? The interior of mine is dirty due to the fogging up especially during raining days. But now seldom appears. Might as well remove. Exterior still like new and smooth.

Toothpaste turning from yellow to white aesthetically makes the car look better, but the idea is to bring back the clarity of the headlights - the objective is safety, and only clear headlights will allow light to shine through most effectively.

If it's not too dull, the mention of Scratch-X and foam applicator should do the trick.

A bit more dull, you would probably need to machine polish with a cutting foam pad and light compound. There are some kits out there where you can attach a pad to an electric drill - not bad.

In extreme cases, wet sanding with 1000 grit in straight lines vertically, then horizontally, followed by 2000 grit in same manner, then machine polish will bring it back to original. This is how professionals do/should do it. Hope this helps :)

i tried the service at autobacs.

few months later turn back to yellowish.

Next time when you wax the car, do your headlights also. This will prevent the UV rays which turns it yellow again :)

Talk is easy.

Sorry bro, wish I still lived in SG to help show how but now moved overseas. There are some tutorials you can find online and youtube

My car banged by my friend recently. So the 2 headlight gone case. My friend change the headlight for me but never change the side mirror indicator <_<

It turns damn ugly n obvious the car got accident before due to the colour gap between the new n old light is super obvious.

I bought the turtle wax and it doesnt help for my side indicator light. And I dont dare to rub it too hard coz the side mirror also become so fragile and shaky after the stupid accident.

My bro recommened me a headlight workshop at yishun. Out of my "tulan"nization I went there.

The guy who work on it was very patient n careful with his job. He only do headlights by appointment one.

So this is how the result of his job
