Hissing sound from aircon

My experience with Tomika was not very pleasant. I went down to change air con cooling coil and it cost $950 + 7% GST=$1016.5. After few days of driving, there are sound coming out from the aircon unit which is very irritating, so went back to Tomika and was told that sound is coming from Air con blower motor which another cost about $600 plus to repair.

 

I am not expert in Car aircon system, but what are the chance of other parts failure right after repair by Tomika?

 

I was damn pissed when Tomika mechanics can tell me if i dont want to spend $600 plus to repair, i can just increase my sound system volume.

 

This is my experience for your own risk assessment before visiting above mentioned workshop, i would never what do go though them again.

 

eh bro, u one post hero ah...i do my repairs at Tomika for my a/c whenever got prob, never seen them talk to me in this way b4 or other clients, coz i usually hang around when they repair.....

 

if they really got prob, then i think old birds who went will start complaining (but not those 1 post heros like u)

highly suspected of defaming this company. i called up Tomika and they confirm there was no such thing. i think you better know what constitutes defamation.

Sorry bro, no such problem for my lao pok Sunny. Aircon working very well for a mth liao, even on a hot sunny day.

hmmm, then maybe it is my blower motor but if in the long run it doesnt affect the other parts of the aircon unit then no point to touch it, maybe turn up my radio all the time to mask the sound.

Shd be motor blower. Old car also had this diagnosed by a mech but the strange thing is that it lasted me another 1 year before change car and yet no issues when I handed over keys. Still hissing but still running. But dun take my experience as a guarantee nothing will be wrong. Juz what I went thru only

Wat car u driving? my fren change cooling coil there $400 only... u sure u went to tomika? or timoka?

Most likely the system is low, but not low enough to shut off yet. Have it checked for leaks by a competent technician - probably needs an evaporator.Meanwhile,the noise can also come from the expansion valve, if yes, it is normal noise.

i recommend ERA Auto at amk autopoint, level 02 first unit on the left, Hp: 97114018, look for kelvin only so please call in advance.

 

i know he charge $400 for latio cooling coil and $500++ for latio compressor, other car brands i not sure.
