Zangetsu77 Clutched May 28, 2010 Share May 28, 2010 Can any senior bro help me on this issue? THANK Knowing that Mitsubishi lancer EX 1.5 had a bhp of 109. If i were to install a HKS full exhaust system ($9xx) how much more bhp will be increased? (no other modification) 109bhp + how many more bhp for the HKS *after installation done, can it at least on par with civil 1.6 125bhp? Thanks again Wanna do up your car, full HKS style? Many Colts already tuned to 300HP and out-running stock Evos... Much can be done. For starters, can slap on aftermarket HKS turbo, run on low boost, change to HKS racing suction, reflash the ECU and then your HKS exhaust will make perfect sense. 200 HP and 300 NM torque, probably achievable and without much compromise to reliability... But it's poisonous... really poisonous... Haha... ↡ Advertisement

macrosszero Turbocharged May 28, 2010 Share May 28, 2010 (edited) Its called torque steer, and FWD cars invariably have this trait, whether stock or not. Edited May 28, 2010 by Macrosszero

Cerano 1st Gear May 28, 2010 Share May 28, 2010 whats the highest rated evo that HKS has done bro?
Zangetsu77 Clutched May 28, 2010 Share May 28, 2010 whats the highest rated evo that HKS has done bro? Dunno about Japan or USA bro... Insofar as Singapore Evo Xs are concerned, the highest HP HKS Evo Xs done are running on the GT3240 turbos. I know this cos there's only one SEA tuner doing HKS and the GT3240 is the mecca of HKS turbo upgrades for the Evo X at this point in time. The GT3240 is capable of up to 580 PS or about 570 HP. On the SST it's dyno-ed at 554 HP to date (only 1 car in SG). About 5 or more manual cars running on the GT3240. For the Evo 9s, i know some are running on higher power settings. The HKS website does display their signature turbines, the highest spec ones i can't find a PS rating that they support, so possibly these are 1,000 HP turbines, and that's probably your answer. With a 2.3L stroker kit, advanced fuel and engine management, ECU remapping, intakes, exhaust, boost controller, you got a 1,000 HP HKS drag car for the Evo 9. For the Evo X, the over-borne 2.2L pistons just released like this week in SG only. At some point in time, HKS Evo VIII done up in SG held the world record for the 1/4 mile. One of those rare moments, a 8+s car, way faster than the Bugatti or the 1000HP R35 on e drag strip. Of course, AMS in USA now holds the record with the 7s car that caught fire after the run. Lastly, you may want to note that HKS does pride itself in track cars and not drag cars. The HKS Japan Time Attack Evo X holds the Evo X Tsukuba record, and the HKS Singapore Time Attack Evo X holds the Evo X Sepang record. The former ran on the GT3240 with 2.2L stroker and strengthened engine internals and the latter ran on the GT3037 with stock displacement.

Ghostrider 3rd Gear May 28, 2010 Share May 28, 2010 Paiseh, what's FMIC/TMIC? However, i'm quite sure i meet a lot of 500+HP Rex/Evos on the road regularly (from eye-balling), i presume all have upgraded turbos. You wanna hit 500+bhp, I know Evo is easier than Rex. Rex you wanna hit that figure...you have to change turbo, injectors, fuel pump, ECU (standalone or flash), bigger intercooler...min. Close one eye its a 10K project.... Haha, Evo also gotta change the full works otherwise can't cross 500BHP. Esp Evo X since it's newer and engine also changed.

Kanta Neutral Newbie August 3, 2010 Share August 3, 2010 Common first step is I/H/E: Intake Header (extractor) Exhaust Even if your car doesn't go faster it'll sound faster. Sir, I/H/E stands for Intake Head Exhaust. Head means cylinder head, not header... Exhaust means complete exhaust system.

macrosszero Turbocharged August 3, 2010 Share August 3, 2010 You can define IHE however you like, but the common understanding of each of those alphabets is as I had previously said - Intake, Header, Exhaust. The reason that is regarded as Stage 1 of modification is because those are "bolt-on" basic easy mods. Doing the cylinder heads aren't a bolt-on mod.
