Erkme73: Oh, that's good. I was quite interested in DOD cameras, but held back when I heard that it was compulsory to crank at one go. Now that you've informed GS600 works fine with 2-step cranking, it's good news to me.

hi guys,

I currently own a F500HD and i'm thinking of changing over to a GS300. Primary reason being the F500HD looks too much like a mobile phone when its mounted on my front windscreen - its just sitting there tempting folks to break the windscreen and steal it.

I'm on the verge of putting in my order for a GS300 because its alot smaller and alot less conspicuous.

But before I do so, could I just hear from the folks here that are using the GSXXX - are you guys happy with it?

Are the video clips hard to view? Is it hard to aim the camera?

oh.. that's sad... why did the vet do that? I mean, he must have known you were waiting to adopt it if the owner abandoned it - or did the owner give direct instructions to the vet to euthanize it?

By the way - would there be a case where legal action may be taken against a driver if he happens to run over a pet in the street (esp now that you even posted video evidence on youtube)?

Or,

would there be a case where a driver can take legal action against a pet owner if the pet causes in a traffic accident, esp if this results in injury to humans and/or damage to property.

Just curious - what with so many different types of lawsuits being filed in the States.

Are DOD cameras made in China or Taiwan?

I see from their website says made in Taiwan but anyone also knows hardly anything is made outside of China.

And I chance upon dealxtreme website which sells many car cameras which look exactly (100% clone) like DOD cameras and not under DOD brand but some China brands.

So does DOD take their cameras from some China factory and just paste and packaged as their own brands, while at the same time, this China factory also sells to other distributors who uses their own brands?

Is DOD a distributor and not a manaufacturer?

I don't really know about the legal aspect. The owners of the dog were quite the character. The didn't care about the dog, or the consequences. A classic case of someone who shouldn't reproduce (dogs or otherwise). In the US, animals are considered property, not family. So there is no dollar value assigned to the emotional value of a dog.

Since there were two veterinaries involved (the original animal hospital and the special orthopedic surgery center), the communication broke down. Tuffy was at the surgeon when her urethra was torn - and instead of calling me to see if I wanted to spend the money to pay for it, they called the animal hospital. It was late at night, and they didn't have my number. The vet at the animal hospital 'assumed' we didn't want to pay for it, and had the surgery center euthanize her.

Really, this should not have happened - and all the people involved know it. They're all on the defensive, afraid we're going to take some sort of legal action. Of course, we won't. But it doesn't lessen the heartache or the anger. My wife is now going to buy $4k worth of donation goods and give them to all the local no-kill shelters in our surrounding counties. Neither of the vets we've dealt with will benefit from that.

To the mods - sorry for the hijack.

GS600 user here. Bros having this unit, please check yours whether the unit can be set to recycling recording. Although the manual we received indicated an option to turn on the recycling recording, I can't find the option in the menu settings. currently I need to format and start recording again after a couple of days when the mem card is full (using a 4GB card).

Some other comments :

1) slight lag in speed recording under GPS

2) there will be lag between recorded files depending on the write speed of the mem car. Don't go below Class 4

3) Direct real time monitoring on roof mount LCD in car so never tried using the laser to adjust the camera

Only main issue is the recycling recording. This function is a must for such device. Hope they can come up with a firmware to resolve this.

I have spoken to Solid Resources, the new official distributor for the DOD-TEC cams in Singapore.

Whilst I am waiting for DOD-TEC to reply on the above issues highlighted by bro Toyopet, I am asking Solid Resources for some assistance in answering the above questions. They are doing some testing on GS600 and hopefully they can also provide some answers. Will let you know their replies.

Not sure anyone experiencing this issue. Whenever I plug in my F500HD for recording, it seems to affect my radio FM88.3, a lot of static noise can be heard. Other radio station seems to be ok.

1) I believe that most of other GPS devices is facing the same speed display issue, DOD is seeking improvement on this.

2) DOD has recommended using Class 4 or better SD card.

3) The new batch of GS600 will have this function of recording (1, 5, 10, 15, 30, 45 min).

Regarding the need of reformatting the SD Card, this is due to the G-Sensor settings.

Kindly try the method as follow:

In the HD player, click settings and set all G-Sensor (X,Y,Z) Value to (1).

Which we are unable to change since we're waiting on the HDMI cable.

Dear Moredhel,

You do not need to use HDMI cable to do the G-Sensor settings, simply connect your GS600 using USB to your pc and run the file HDplayerDOD.exe

at the application window, under the settings icon on the bottom right.

Kindly feel free to drop us a call if you still unable to find the settings.

I also realised the signal deterioration of this radio station ever since I started using my GS-600 [smallcry] . This might be due to signal interference between the radio antenna (taped to windscreen) and location of the cam (just below the antenna). And yes my other favourite 933 and Class 95 seems unaffected.
