dipstick for my renault kangoo is damaged...

i was informed when i went for regular servicing..

but refused to replace it as it costs 86 bucks

today i checked...seems like the head is missing..

question here is

1) how should i take out that dipstick , i tried using a screw driver to poke..

seems like it is stuck there ?

2) is it ok..lets say the dipstick is not there..is it ok to drive without one(read online it is not ok..but would like to hear opinions here)

3) anyone has any places to recommend a good 2nd hand dipstick?

help is greatly appreciated..cheers

Instead of going back to AD, have you checked with stockists or OEM suppliers? They might be selling cheaper.

(edited)

Is Renault dipstick made of plastic or steel (the stick inside engine itself, not the handle to pull out)? Saw the Skoda one is plastic.

ok..managed to find one..

from scrapyard...

but now one more prob arise..

seems like the old one is still there...

juz that the head is stuck there...

now maybe i have to head down to workshop to

get them to remove the old one stuck there

so i can place the 'new' one i bought...

and is $20 reasonable for the 'new' one ?
