Alfa 147 - A Decade...

The 1.6 used to be mine i believe. Its SFV....

I sold it in 2008 to someone and it eventually found its way to a dealer. Not sure what happened there after.

Btwn 1.6 n 2.0, both are fun to drive so its really a question of manual or selespeed, new or old look. Power wise, 2litre def faster n smoother. Just be mindful of how u use selespeed. Manual is pretty straightforward.

Lastly, must make sure both cars have regular svc history.

More info on price. The last 2L 147 were sold for ard 70k n i think that car was the last few judging by the registration. U shd b looking at quite a bit less than advertised. For 1.6, mayb ard 5k dep per year

thanks guys , an Alfa sounds good :)

i am looking at a cheap conti. If I like it , I'll upgrade and if i hate it , I would lose too much

May be u could also check with Euro Auto ... on those history of 2 rides.

2L Selespeed is an updated FL version.

If I am not wrong, 1st gear can be engaged also from the shifter rather than the older version must be from gear stick.

Unfortunately you are wrong. The first gear cannot be engaged via pedal shift... Still require the gear stick regardless for facelift selespeed on a 147.

Because these rides are more than 3 years, You can check with Alfa City or Alfa Sportivo for their service history besides EA. Hope this helps.

My selespeed died on me again yesterday; this time is the relay!! So frustrating, stuck in the middle of the road at the traffic light at lunch hour, and late for appointment, was so close to give up the car, hate to love this car so much, sigh!!! [:(]

Totally understand how u feel. There was once my brake switch failed and I couldn't engage 1st gear... Best part, stuck in the middle of the road during peak hour traffic in CBD... [bigcry]

it was my 4th time stuck in the middle of the road, worst case was along orchard road, can you imagine, can't find a hole to hide; all choked by dried leaves that's why keep flooding!!

after towed to workshop and got it fixed, the thought of selling the car gone immediately ;-) sigh... bella please don't throw anymore tantrum on me again!

I sold my 147... had to take a big hit off the resale value! It had been a great drive these 4 years. Love the ride.... :)
