Tks Bro, looks interesting but out of my budget for '08 2.0.

I probably stick to 147 1.6 or unless there's a 2.0 below 40k.

Getting new house so got to budget.

For a true peace of mind, I will stick to stick shift.

Hi all,

Need to check on cam variator for our Alfa 147. Mine is the FL version with engine no starting 37203, anyone encountered changing this part during timing belt change so far? I believe only the pre-FL version with 120hp has this part on their cams? Tks

By right you should change this during timing belt servicing. the 1.6L pre FL 147 should be something else. I bought my cam variator from EBspares and gonna change it when my timing belt is due.

Thanks, so yours is FL version as well? Coz it's kinda different from what I research online. They refer to the 105hp ( which is my engine no) as eco version and does not come with cam variator. See the link below

From my understanding yes there is no cam variator for FL 1.6TS, one of the owner confirmed that with me when I'm getting his suspensions. However if you do a search on the front brake disc of Eco version, they are fitted with solid disc. Is yours on solid front disc? The last time I call Tanly to get my disc, to confirm with him I'm getting the right vented disc for my pre FL, he said he nv know any 1.6TS using solid disc.

Hi guys. I just bought a 8yo pre-FL 147. Though many things to service and repair... never regretted it.

Anyway, do you know where I can find 2nd hand original AR rims? 15".

Thanks.

Its not a common car so chances are slim. U can look at ebay or some online alfa parts sellers in uk.

yes mine are front vented discs as well. To add to the confusion, i do hear the "diesel" sound on cold start up which is associated with a spolit variator but i also confirm that i do not have the variator solenoid which can be seen once you open up the top plastic rocker. Strange!

You removed your heat shield?

Do they fix Alfa there? Let me know if they do, I normally go to one at Mount Austin area for general servicing.

Yes removed the heatshield coz it cracked and was loose.

As for Motorpassion, yes they do Alfa but how competent I am not sure, which is why I'm trying to get some feedback here.
