Bought a $200+ china-brand unit 2 years back for my Rush. Worked fine always.

Yes, the touch screen was smtimes "inaccurate". But its main functionalities worked fine. Afterall, give and take

1. Bluetooth audio transmission always loses some of its quality

2. It required original Apple video cable to play videos from my iPhone.

all the best. going to spoil soon

Why would you say something like that? Unless of course you proud owner of a much more $$$ unit. Hahaha

Besides $200+ unit which lasted for 2 years already. Wooo... I'm happy already.

TO each its own. Its functions are similar to the Pioneer.

Its called perceived value. Running mine into its 3rd years already .. and anymore would be a bonus liao.

Haha. Just can't remember the brand name of the player cos there was no logo.

Agree.

Actually now following this thread cos itchy wanna swap the standard audio system on my 6yr old Merc for a all-in-1.

But i only need basic players which can

- divx via USB

- BT audio

- video connection to iPhone.

No need GPS or even the "crazy" idea of being connected to the Internet while on roads.

Hi all,

Going through the forum I understand you are discussing about Road Emperor Car dvd player at some points. I just want to know that, the player listed at www.roademperor.com and at chinavasion, is it the same one? By the description and looks its seems same. But Singapore seller has detailed information for some features. I ordered road emperor from chinavasion assuming their player also having same features that said by Singapore road emperor. Any one has any idea about this?

My opinion on china-made head units having listened to 2 of them installed on different cars:

- Decent functionality

- Extremely inferior sound output

If you just want some sound from your speakers, then yes, by all means go ahead with the china-made head unit

If you want sound from your speakers to sound good, then please stay away from these china-made head units.

divx via USB and BT audio(A2DP) are both not easy for your MERC, but for japan car, it is not a problem.

video connection to iPhone can be done by Media Key.

That's what I am thinking about on China Products 2 years ago, but now, things are changed, there is high quality China Products, although hard to find it. But one rule is simple, do not buy cheap china products if you want high quality.

+1, imho those China 2DIN units only good for those who want stock-to-stock, just want all the features: SD card, USB, DVD, reverse camera, still can, if you are seeking improvement in sound quality, or you already have some (non touch screen DVD aftermarket) player, then the China one will be downgrade in the sound,

ah, another group of consumers that make Chinese DVD units got business is probably parallel importer, function and features very impressive, sound not so good, but people cannot complain because "bundled" in one.. I'd rather have a single-CD Sony deck, personally

if budget constraint but you MUST have 2DIN DVD, under $500 can get 2nd hand Pioneer or Alpine (maybe 3-4 years old model), but will be very very worth it

Do you think I will believe you especially when your signature contains a link to an advertisment selling China-made head units? <_<

I am sure many of our bro/sis used this before. What is your thought ? Care to share your experience. The "Mini Electron" is selling for $380 with installation and 1 year warranty. Thinking of giving it a try. Many thanks.

:D I would suggest you buy an oem fit aftermarket touch screen navigatoin which can meets you requirement as well. furthermore ,the headunit has the function of satnav with tmc ,connect with iphone and mp5,youcan make and answer phones just in car ,the price is moderate in fact.

With my experience, If you are buying a good quality china made product, you wont have any issues. If you take any(90%) branded electronics product, make it upside down you will see "Made in China"..I have a RoadEmperor, i am really happy about its performance. Last day i found i can even connect my 320GB HDD via USB and play anything from that.

Even the laptop am typing this of DELL, but made in china. I dont have any issues or last 3 yrs..

Low price doesn't mean low quality always, and branded products doesn't mean high quality always, we are just paying for their brand and advertisements.
