Seems like the trend is towards online for car insurance, following Aviva footsteps.

Premium are cheaper because they bypass agent

NTUC used to be online, but now can key in online but Customer service will get back to you on the quote.

the question is, how's their support?

i tried to get a quote from directasia.com and got $605.. tried aviva got quoted $759.. but i havent heard much about direct asia.. anyone has any comments?

notice DirectAsia can pay monthly, no additional cost. seems like they want market share asap.

hopefully more company goes online, can compare price easily, good for consumer & transparent.

i think the cons is no personnel contact, like a handphone no. to call during emergency.

i got a feeling if you call their hotline, either you'll be put on hold or an automated voice asking you to press here & press there

Was supposed to re-new with DirectAsia, but went back to HSBC instead.

Reason is because they're new in the market and not many people have experience with them. Didn't took the risk in the end.

Just my 2cents worth. Direct Asia have some clauses which are not covered by standard insurance coverage. So that's why you pay cheaper.. But in the event of accident/claim, it might be tough... So read carefully. And I don't recommend it either. At your own risk leh. That's why I don't even consider them..
