Ahseng 5th Gear July 16, 2010 Share July 16, 2010 My 2 years mobile contact is up and I am on ione plus plan. Recently, I got a call from Singtel asking me to recontract my mobile plan and they will give me a $4 per month discount on my current plan. Do you think this is a fair deal? Do I get more savings if I recontract with other telcos? Or can I ask for more discount? Seeking your advise please Bro, wat is 4 dollar off man. If u must recontract, get the most valuable/expensive phone u can for your plan for as little $ as possible, and sell the phone off. I'm sure u'll get more than $4 x24 ↡ Advertisement

Dwoon 1st Gear July 16, 2010 Share July 16, 2010 Just re-contracted mine..... my old plan was like 17 years old (classic plan) Anyway, I was given $100 off for any phone.... so I chose the latest offer of the Galaxy S. On 3G Flexi plan is $56..... but at corporate rate is like $41.5/ mth But they've been screwing up my service for me for a whole week and I've made no less than 9 calls in total so far to try to rectify the service. There is free AMPed & MobileTV for 2 years. The auto-msg sent to me the day after I signed said service activated.... but it was not. Went down to the outlet and they put in another request. Then free service came with irritating Reuters SMS.... called to cancel that.... guess what... they cancelled my MobileTV. Called them up to put back my mobile TV....... they cancel my AMPed service. Now call them up to re-instate both..... still not activated after 2 days.... somemore, one customer service person said mobiletv is not free, onnly the datastreaming is free..... then I searched their website.... it says free.... what crap.. their officers (Manisah) don't even know their own products. Said must call the outlet to confirm....... but when I call back immediately, another CSO picked up and said, yes, its free mpbileTV. So at the end, I've yet to get any service re-instated after 2 days.... and they wanted to even bill me for the mobileTV as there is a charge when I go into the IDEAS account. What crap is Singtel doing?????

Starian Clutched July 16, 2010 Share July 16, 2010 (edited) i just extended my contract with singtel like 3 months ago. I regretted because there are alot of grey zones with intermittent connectivity. Worst is in NS and EW tunnels. M1 not so jialat right? The most ironic of the grey zones is above ground between khatib and yio chu kang when i can actually spot Singtel's ground dish (transceiving) station. Talk about being satirical. you using satellite phone? dont mis-taken satellite dish with mobile base station. what NS and ES tunnel you talking abt? be precise, MRT tunnel? my opinion is all 3 mobile phone operator has their fair share of blind spot, so who ever has the best fone deal or plan or loyalty program, just hop to that... Do I get more savings if I recontract with other telcos? Or can I ask for more discount? Seeking your advise please How much is your bill per month?? I think S$ 4 is a bit too little, considering you cannot get a phone and tie in for 2 years...... if they offer 50% off (without taking phone), then maybe you can consider.... Few years back, also got a call from sing-tell CS... told me wanna change price plan (I have the Pod-lite plan), blah blah blah.... can get some phone chepaer etc... I ask them for the cost of the new price plan.... NBzz no discount at all... so I told her no special price what, last time when my line is still under Classis plan, you guys still give me 50% discount...... so what for I pay more for my spare line.... so she offer 50% off my pod-lite.... provided I dont get a phone.... its okay for me since mine is spare line... and If I decide to get a phone later, the monthly fee will revert toold price.... Now, they dont even bother to call me cause no more pod-lite plan, no more those classic plan..... you want, got to pay much higher price plan.... so now I am comtemplating to pod over my line to SH, where as a hub club member, can get 20% discount off for 2 lines.... my SH line and the sing-tell pod over line.... better value I think..... can get new phone also..... but NBzz still asking myself take 2 line for fark.... hmmm.... Hao80 Neutral Newbie August 6, 2010 Share August 6, 2010 I got a similar call from Singtel today regarding their $4 off from next phone bill. They hope that I can re-contract with them again.. However, I make a "meal" out of them today, stating that their offer is too little to comtemplate. I mentioned that other rivals easily willing to give out $100 phone vouchers if I agree to port-over. Even if I fullfill the 2 year contract with Singtel, it is still only $96 discount. I make a firm remark that if they want me to re-contract, come back to me with something more attractive.. They say they will revert to HQ for advice.. Lets see how in the next few days.. Rb1623m Clutched August 6, 2010 Share August 6, 2010 I took up this offer of $4 off per month. This offer is good if you wish to continue with Singtel while waiting for your dream phone to be launched during the 2-year period. Once you re-contract with new phone within the 2 years, the $4 discount per month will cease and your new 2-year contract kicks in.
