Recomendations for Car Servicing

Anyone have a good workshop to recommend for servicing my Mitshubitshi Lancer EX? I've been sending it to Mitsubitshi since the day I bought it (except the last time, but the quality at that workshop doesn't seem to be as good). I'm hoping to get some recommendations from fellow EX or Mitshibitshi drivers here. I'd prefer it if the workshop were open on Saturdays or Sundays because it is extremely difficult for me to take time off from work.

Location: Preferably near Farrer Road but I am willing to travel a bit.

Time: Weekends?

Cost: Won't mind paying a bit more for quality work as it is also due for inspection in Aug

Can someone also recommend a good oil for me?! I have no clue about what is good or bad and I don't want the workshop to take advantage of that by recommending some expensive but lousy ones.

Cheers.

Hi all,

21-Jul-2010 event :)

I had a tire puncture and my Honda was already about 80,000 km so I decided to go to an AAS workshop. I chose Autosavers@Toh Guan because I had my 3M mat done there earlier. By the way, I know zero about cars. The following is my experience:

The sifu showed that my tires were almost bald (I saw the center tracks... yup... looks bald) so 4 tires at $130 per tire. Its a Toyo DRB 195/50R15. Extra 4 spark plugs (BKR6E-11) at total of $18. Changed out to a new maintenance free battery "Battery-MF 35AH" at $105. Refilled out synthetic oil called "Rev-1" (OIL Gold F/SYN 5W40 4L) at $45. Refilled out "FLUID CVT 3.5L 08ZT3" at $66, 80k package at $248.

Total damage with GST is $1,020.

Bought the car from another owner earlier at 70,000 km. Did 3 KL trips in 1 month and countless Sin/Mal trips :-D

So before the servicing, a lot of shuddering, whirling sounds... I think its the fan. 1 convoy lamp was not working... after the servicing, the engine sound felt solid, starting at a purr and fading to a nice hum. Tires are also far quieter than the earlier ones...I have no idea what it was... :-))

Ok, that's all for my review. Will I go back after 10,000 km? Yup. I think so because there's nothing to tell me otherwise.

Any comments?

Sounds like the service provided was excellent. Unfortunately, I can't go there because they don't seem to service Mitshubitshi. I went to their website and they only stated Nissan Toyota and Honda....

After hearing so much about workshop horror stories, I decided to share my experience. Well, you could call them up and find out about Mitsubishi else you could go to the AAS website. I don't think an AAS workshop would be that crap.

Since the last posting, I have run-up about 1,000km and the ride still feels good. Love the nice hum and the quiet tires,

Hopefully my review would serve as some reference points for newbies like myself... :-)

he will recommend.... butlike i said the werkshop is just a normal car werkshop and not a 'mod' shop

so the oil he carries are generally safe for our bread and butter cars...

like the cheap and good made in singapore toyota fully syn oil, etc

not oils like elf la, ows or thelikes.

what i like about the place is that the boss is honest and experienced... + clean werkshop, well stocked for the popular makes of cars in SG

Don't worry, the only "mods" I have on my car are the tinted windows. Everything else is at it was out of the factory and I have no intention of doing anything to it. I just want the car to run smoothly without any problems :)

So many recommendations, I shall just randomly pick one :)

Thanks all.
