Hondavvvtec 1st Gear February 2, 2011 Share February 2, 2011 read from page 1 till now, noticed that the insurance company has already fought the case and payouts were done. so what is the main issue here? Most probably if either parties is still not happy, they will have to engage their own lawyers and fight it out in court. Other than that, i do hope both parties can settle this out of forum. Piyopico Supercharged February 2, 2011 Share February 2, 2011 Yup it's supposed to driver vs driver... But his wife the non-driver came into the picture from the start, remember? She was shouting at me from the start and disrupting the exchange btw me and driver. Hubby was then at one side making calls. After I said stop, let insurance settle, I was damn frustrated already and stood to one side to cool down, leaving my hubby to proceed to settle the rest. I think from day one, 1st post i had already mentioned this. Am I making up stories to twist anything or deceive anyone? At no point did Latio driver walk over to ask me for my particulars and I simply assumed my hubby had exchanged particulars to both parties satisfaction as there was no mention until now. No valid license or insurance? Then whose particulars were furnished in the report? I even signed a lawyer's letter stating I was the driver and willing to testify in court if necessary. Latio driver thinks someone else's particulars were given? He is welcome to call us to meet up and check details against my license instead of making baseless accusations here. As I said we have nothing to hide. I have already emailed him proof that soft copies of photos were submitted to the lawyer firm. I thought your bumper minor scratches only rite? Did you have to change the whole bumper? You claim for loss of use and loss of exess also rite? If it was only scratches that can be repaired for less than $300, how did it escalate into a $6000 claim???? You mean you dunnoe all these? I said from the begining, the one reversing ALWAYS have a higher duty to keep a look out. According to BOLA, your case at best 50/50 but I guess you dun really care so why ask for all the comments. I belive 70% of the bros here either ask you to settle privately or that your will not win. Then again wat do I know...................
Panda8 Neutral Newbie February 2, 2011 Share February 2, 2011 Yeah, well said, by saying that the lancer is right = the latio deliberately move forward to bang his own car ....ironic right? MLS Clutched February 2, 2011 Share February 2, 2011 I'm sorry, I don't know the breakdown or actual amount. But I guess it may incl lawyer's fees. I don't mean surveyor cost. I mean there are independent surveyors unrelated to the workshop to take photos of the damages and provide an unbiased assessment of costs. And they also take photos of the car after repair to ensure the car was repaired as stated. So that such things don't happen - addition of fancy bodykits or work done unrelated to damages? I had a previous 100% no fight claim against another party and I was there personally when such a surveyor came to take photos of my vehicle. Icekitten, to be honest I believe $6000 to claim for that damage of yours is too high. I'm now in the midst of processing my claim for my own car and my surveyor costs is only $300 plus. My repair cost for something more serious than yours is only $1500 plus. I don't know how such a damage for yours would be rocket high. Ask yourself this question. If the scratch was inflicted while you were reversing into a wall, would you go for a repair that is $6000? Or you would go for one which is $600? Please be mindful of the cost of the claim. Thenotveryfunnyguy Neutral Newbie February 2, 2011 Share February 2, 2011 I did experience a smiliar incident. From what I know, as you long as you banged into a stationary car you are at fault. In this case, seems like both car happen to move and bang one another.. Each driver can settle their own damages and close case, since both of them are at fault? The only big winner is the lawyer.

I think may have to add up all the cost in e.g. lawyer, administration (if you are processing yourself, the value of your time), loss of use, excess etc.
KaKiLang 4th Gear February 2, 2011 Share February 2, 2011 ok i think it is very obvious so on a side note the insurance premium for a latio and lancer will increase due to this? so i think many ppl will have to avoid buying these 2 models Not on the brand but on female drivers In the past insurance company single out CIVICS, den SUBARU and EVO now cha bo drivers Just came home from car detailing and still on this thread its not the small damages on the car, its the EGO and PRIDE

F105S Neutral Newbie February 2, 2011 Share February 2, 2011 This case can be seen from two perspectives. One, Lancer driver reversing and then Latio come out without looking(more likely), and then evo bang. Second, Latio adjusting parking evo never c bang. Dosen't the carpark have CCTVs? KaKiLang 4th Gear February 2, 2011 Share February 2, 2011 but i thought lady drivers are generally safer? Generally safer, but if accident does happen, its rather silly and impossible ones not all but most. Ya, not till u involve in a accident with them. I suggest just move on with this small damages ↡ Advertisement
