better get an amp. you may think you dun want an amp, but as time goes by, you will find that you will need one.

I agree on this. You need an amp to power up the speakers.

to me, the person is wasting $$ if he use component speakers without an amp.

if that's the case, then stick with coaxial better.

Basically, getting better music makers to playback your CDs (for music) and DVDs (for movies)

To explain all will take all day. You have to have an idea of what you want to achieve before you think of what you wanna get.

Just checking with you ICE folk, how much $$$ wld i be looking at if i just want to redo up my ICE setup.

I'll be using a Nakamichi CD500 for the HU

What i need are, decent speakers that fit into the OEM speaker enclosures and most importantly, very good and neat wiring. I'm just using it for daily driving listening, no need anything powerful

You are using a good HU but if no processor or amps a bit wasted leh, at least add a decent 2ch amp (i recommend 4ch) to power your front, rear can just stick to OEM speaker. $$$ will depends on wat items u added. Assuming if u just add front 2 way component, it will cost u $300+ to 600 for a decent one but 3-way will be much more abt $800 onwards. If your budget is ranging from $1k to $1.5k you can get pretty decent stuff for a amp and 2 way component + install. Most reputable installer will provide neat wiring with pretty good quality cables.

I have seen drivers use BOSE Accustimas satellite speakers systems in their car.

Sound quality is very rich, clear and powerful base from active double reflect sub-woofer.

Easy to transfer when you sell your car.
