here where got 100??

Just a joke. But if 100 is available, I can guarantee you people with cars that only 91 will also pump. [laugh]

Many thinks that the higher number the better.

I have pumped caltex ron 100 about ten year ago on my BMW520i, you can tell it makes a difference in the upper end of the rev range, V sweet reving and definately more power. For the grocery shoppers when new I dont think any difference cos they run low compression engines but when carbon builds up, you can sometimes get better performance with a higher ron.

I wonder if the MY ban to sell 95 ron to Sg cars has made the causeway jams any better? [:)]

I just came to know that Mark X engines compression ratio is 12.0, which is even higher than the Honda Type R engines.

it was just a guess... Mark Xs are high com engines... 2.5L, 3.0L, 3.5L V6s

so i thought so...

yah... i heard they are hign com engines... but a markX is much heavier than a civic type r... or any honda type r...

so wats the min RON for a Mark X? SG version? which shd be Jap specs, since PI...

Wa, that far.... Think next time I go Kulai for dinner will skip JB, return straight from Tuas.

JB jam kinda depends on luck... but even good luck also will jam somewat... so it really depends on how many staff the MY customs have on duty... and now the MY side of the causeway has RETARDED roads... pot holes and hard strips and omg...

my 1st tank of 97 in my car since the day i got it... butt dyno says car seems more responsive and like got more power (but its my second tank of some MLM fuel additive i was given a sample).... exhaust seem louder, (but it could be the packing burnt liao...

i strongly feel the Octane number does nothing for the car if over dosed...

so i am now left with TWO conclusions...

1) my fuel additive is bloody good.... doseage is like 1ml to 5liters of petrol... omg haha...

2) higher grade petrol has more additives than 95 or 92... hence the smoother watever drive...

or could it be the 2T... hmmmm....

i think end of the day wat really matters, regardless if it actually does even work, is the 'better smoother' drive i get to feel... :D

Purpose of Octane number is solely for anti knocking/pinging/detonation purpose. It has absolutely nothing to do with performance.

Of course, you can tune the car to take advantage of the high octance petrol by running leaner and/or advance ignition timing to get better FC and more power.

Its all down to tuning.
