Bros, any advice if this is worth looking at?

http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.ph...507&DL=1243

Was $8.8k last night. Now it is $7.9k...

Am afraid I will buy a lemon.

Thanks

very very high chance that you will get lemon.

not that the car is lousy. just that many parts had worn out due to aging.

if you are ready for such a drive, be prepared to fix it all. the overall repair/replace price is not a joke.

some parts might not be able to find easily.

Comments about EG6 have not been too encouraging. Is such cars really that bad?

Would $5k be a reasonable sum to set aside to bring the car back to its tip-top state, assuming one intends to keep it for another 10 years.

Hi,

to buy a performance COE car, i am assuming you have substantial hard cash. you should prepare yourself for the eventuality of having to replace parts and even do procedures such as engine overhauls. This is not helped by the fact that there is a high chance that it has been severely whacked by previous owners. I am guessing it has more owners than fingers in one hand. And like someone has pointed out, you might even run into problems scouring for parts.

In case you are thinking, bah i can always scour for parts in scrapyards. Thats what i thought too. The truth is that overseas parts trader like African traders routinely come over and sweep all these parts and ship back. Which causes a drought and also drives prices up. Be mindful.

waaaah, confirm choose this if it was me :D

Close to 40k for a 15 year old car? I would prefer to get a 5 year old Cefiro 200JK for this price range.

Neutral Newbie

It's priced at that amount because COE is due for renewal. If I'm not wrong.

Not to forget the light weight chassis. Dun really know how light it is but i only know is very light. Good for handling. But drive carefully also. Not designed for safety if you know what i mean. Like coke can.

Unless the price is had its COE renewed otherwise if it's going to have its COE renew with such price, forget it. Imagine buying the car for 40k before COE renewal, after u got its COE renewed, isn't the car close to $65k to $70k already?

This car had a full conversion to EK9, I presume is from pre-facelift to the facelift EK. Sounds fishy isn't it? If a car is in good condition, why would one fork out $$$ to do a conversion to a facelift model instead of spending $$$ to modify it? It seems to me that such conversion from pre-facelift to a facelift model is just a tell tale sign that the car has had an accident before and hence the change to a facelift model...
