Full sized spare

Going to put a full sized spare instead of a spacesaver in the boot.

Question: Must I use non-directional, symmetric tyre on the full sized spare, or can I just use any tyres?

Any recommendations for 215/45R17?

Best way is to go to tyre shop...I would suggest non directional but not sure a R17 sports rims could fit the spare tyre compartment...normally spare tyres are the standard steel (black) rims..but as I said drive up to a tyre shop and they could advise the suitable type (spare tyres and rims) for you..

already have the rim, now juz thinking about the tyre. Probably will just go down to tire shop to ask.

If you have decided to go for full size, better to do it in full all the way, or you may regret doing a half-pass six job.

Should follow the same brand and make as the other 4 tyres.

Otherwise, stick to the space save spare will do.

My 2 cents.

Try fit one of the existing road wheel into the boot space for spare tyre. Fine if it fits. get same sized tyre for spare (some boots only accept compact spare tyre).

If the exisitng tire too wide for the boot space, try narrower tyre. Check on compartire.com for suitable tyre

Actually why want to change?Singapore quite ok.But if want to change, change to the same size, need not be same brand since it's for temporary use only.
