if you're cruising on the eway, how far is your (ideal) line of sight?

do you just see the car in front? it brake/accelerate; and u also brake/accelerate?

for me, it's at least 2 cars in front of me, so that i've got enouigh space and time to react

I also see the left, right, behind so that I can react accordingly if there's a need. For front I will see few cars ahead. If the car directly in front is very near to the car in front of him I will keep a further distance

If u are suay nothing will help.

I pray each time to be safe.

There is something called anticipation.

If you are good enough you can 'predict' potential accidents and hazards and therefore take action to avoid it.

It does you no harm to attend refresher driving lessons. Do not depends on hearsay with your life at stake

At least keep a safety distance from the car in front of you and pray that he/she do not JAM brake on you.

That is not so dangerous as he/she drop gear in front of you, or his/her car got malfunctioning brake lights

depend. small car i keep 2 car distance. Big lorry can't predict wat it will do since can't see ahead of it. 4 car lenghts.

Also keep looking at left right mirror so no which way to swerve just in case s--t happens.

I normally look 2 to 3 cars ahead because I driving manual car so if look further can anticipate and drop gear and use engine brake rather than foot brake. Makes my car's fuel consumption better also. But the only problem is the brake lights wont light up and some people take very long to notice that I slowed down.

It's best if you can send your brake lights for repair. [:)]

Manual rocks! That's why U switched to manual. Auto = speed keeps creeping up and needs brake to modulate = very impatient driver. I think I am very much patient & don't speed excessively when driving manual than auto.

Normally when i drive Manual

I will brake abit first to give notice to the motorist behind....

Then drop gear and use engine brake....
