In the past I know of some ppl who bend the wire holding the float inside the fuel tank in such a way that it always shows full. Just that u have to know how far ur car can travel per tank so that u know when u need to pump. That way the only way they know u dont have 3/4 tank is to measure the amount of fuel u have in ur tank at the checkpoint.

thanks for replying .. but is it true that someone at the customs checks manually by peeking into your gauge?

at the woodlands checkpoint, i heard that there is a weighing machine at underneath the booth where you give them your passport to check. is that true?

Not sure about the weighing thing. But if u do this ur fuel gauge will always be showing full. There is no way to know how much fuel there is left by looking at the fuel gauge anymore. U can only know by the mileage. Most ppl who do this will reset their tripmeter everytime they pump. So from experience they will know how many km they can drive before empty. So they just make sure they do not drive too far before refueling.

u only need to get caught once and the savings will be all gone

4am best, but 3-5am is less cars..the chkpt is 24/7..they dun sleep

please dont scream at me guys... im trying to cut costs.

my honest opinion..if u can't afford it..u shldn't drive..the statement may offend some, but its the ugly truth [:)]

I would say just go...............be it you have 3/4, 1/2 or 1/4 tank, you kana caught, pay a fine, but you only pay fine, the fine amount can be recover from the savings. assuming you save $50 a trip, 10 trip is $500, fine 1 time also $500, so be it lor.

But if they catch you cheating the meter..............................good luck to you!

weigh it out before you act bro. [:)]

yah man, gg in Mal less than 3/4 tank can say forget to pump.. but modifying the petrol guage is hard to give any excuse... just like parking coupon. Can cheat by putting 1 coupon or dun put at all to try your luck, worst come to worst, $30 fines... but trying to temper with the coupon?? a BIG no no...

i'm now wondering if customs has traced your IP address and fed your particulars into their database. so better not try any stunt.

of course, it could be a remote possibility. if u still try, let us know how it works out for u :D
