Bismarck Turbocharged October 31, 2010 Author Share October 31, 2010 Another thing is, so what if the PAP government trace your vote? And found out that you vote for opposition? Anything wrong with that? Anything wrong with voting PAP or any other party? We are living in a democratic country. We are asked to vote for the next government. We are allow to vote for any party we want. If one is penalised just because he/she vote for opposition, all the more this is not the kind of government we should have. ↡ Advertisement

themagi Neutral Newbie October 31, 2010 Share October 31, 2010 sad to say, if u notice the votes there are numbers printed on them... they will say votes are sacred but in fact they noe who u are and so if ur votes end up wif the opposition, appeals and stuffs when u need their help will always not come true... i oso wan to vote my grievances too... Serial numbers are to prevent fraud. UK also have that. Don't worry vote opposition if that is your choice. If you fear, then the PAP will always be in power. The main opposition and the PAP all say voting is secret. Only the loser opposition like SDP would say that the serial numbers are for retribution on those who vote opposition. Vote opposition if you think that party is good for you.. as long as not SDP haha

Pplater 1st Gear October 31, 2010 Share October 31, 2010 If you vote for "them" out of fear, then "they" have already won (and "we" have already lost). Never give in to this sentiment - because this just allows them to own us more and more. It may already be too late for any hope of real democracy here. Eh. What democracy? You trying to be funny is it?
Bird5011 3rd Gear October 31, 2010 Share October 31, 2010 I always one of the the 34% voters!!! Hope this coming ejection will be able to X the paper!!! Last one was walkover...KNN... Swiped out Cheng San and became AMKio GRC !!!! pui pui..
Yattokame 4th Gear October 31, 2010 Share October 31, 2010 Even if it's true that they can use the serial numbers to trace who voted for whom... what can they do about it?? Are they going to sieve you out from the tens of thousands and make your life difficult... write a computer program to monitor for anything that you have applied for... or get summoned for and make sure that you don't get what you want? I am sure if such a thing really happen, the news would leak and it would not be good for the person who instigated that... there are many people whose email addy ends with .gov.sg.. and they do openly criticize some of the policies.. but they are still "happily" working where they are... the only reason why they don't try their best to clarify the serial numbers issue is for the sole reason that it works to their benefits... why spend time to do something that doesn't do them good? so that boundary lines can be drawn for next election. it's a statistics game. SimonTan 2nd Gear November 1, 2010 Share November 1, 2010 No need serial numbers fear lah. Just ask yourself, have you even kena 'punished' for voting the opposition? If you know of the 34% who voted and gotten punished, then i got nothing to say. Do you? The fear is really a pyschological fear that has worked well. The currrent high properties prices will ensure no one dares to anyhow vote. Deep down eveyone wants their properties to keep on rising. Nuff said. Zniper 2nd Gear November 1, 2010 Share November 1, 2010 You must be one of those dumb people who believe in flying saucers. Its precisely due to folks of your ilk that fearmongering at election time persists. And also adds to the reason why we need to raise the intelligence quotient by more FT imports. "i oso wan to vote my grievances too..." Don't talk, just do it. pls get the facts right... i will definitely go for opposition... if anyone were to follow my comments all the way in other threads, u will realise how i very much hate 2 kind of ppl... one is road hoggers, the other is the wayang ppl there...
