I think he alongside Henry would probably be one of those that their previous clubs welcome them back like heros... Just for the reason they left not due mainly to $$$$

When henry was still around, Arsenal was my fav 2nd team though i started with hating them during the George Graham time... boring boring Arsenal...

hahahaha

yup 1 of the few...

george graham side exciting leh...... their defence power....

they once said.. if there is no space in midfield.... they will bring their defence backwards so they have more space in midfield... that is how confident they are about their defence [thumbsup]

but i somehow believe Fabregas.....

what you think about walcott leaving? if Ox steps up.. i think is fine... defensively he seems much better than walcott

i am a skeptic, so i won't place much meaning to player's words.

Ox is slightly different breed than Walcott.

He is more muscular but yet to contribute as much as Walcott did last season.

Against LFC last Sunday he shown that he's no pushover.

Progress wise of course Walcott is at a more advance stage but that doesn't mean Ox won't match up or even exceed as well.

imho both are on rotational duty.

same as Podo/Giro and Gerv.

Caz is permanent, perhaps rotate with Jack when he's back.

If everyone is fit, this will be the way to go to make everyone alive on pitch.

Fire at the Emirates

Who to blame?

According to the Islington Gazette, twenty fire fighters were called to the Emirates Stadium last night to extinguish a fire in a ground floor kitchen.

The blaze, understood to have been started by accident, was discovered at 2am and finally brought under control in just over the time it took Arsenal to dismantle Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

It has since been confirmed that Spurs-supporting fire fighters were in attendance at the scene, and (presumably under duress) were forced to do their job.

They learn a thing or two from Jackie Chan's 'Drunken Master'. [laugh]

Unpredictable can be tough to beat!

I think he did not want to let walcott go is for ox to gain experience.. he did something similar to veira while bringing up fabregas...

Actually Walcott's crossing assists (and perhaps finishing) is what could be Wenger's hope to further improve this season.

Clumsiness aside, Walcott undeniably has that potential, and thus an added variation to feed the front line.

Sagna has good crossing too, but he's not available so not so much assist expected while defending is his main trade.

Unfortunately we have yet to see similar pattern developed on the left side.

Gerv is not known for long overhead pass, Gibbs maybe occasionally. Arsh, more often caught napping..

Podo, yet to be seen.

So that's why Walcott's is valuable in that sense that AW wish to retain.

Contract Management

---

Alex Song left in a flurry of bizarre claims. Three years remained on his five year deal; his team wanted to renegotiate and Arsenal rebuffed them. Barcelona had probably been in contact and the pay-off to the player greater had he signed, the club were not that stupid. This summer has seen the club become tougher with contracts in some cases and Team Song found out the hard way that there are a lot more aspects of contract renegotiations than money. They scented weakness with the van Persie saga, determining that the club would not want to lose another key player. They were wrong. Are Team Walcott similarly misjudging the situation?

The other Alex is being spoken to at the moment to reward his progress; Koscielny and Vermaelen signed new deals in the past year and Mikel Arteta was rewarded for Player of the Season performances at the heart of the Arsenal midfield. Playing well is being rewarded. But can the club apply a broadbrush approach to deals and the renewals process? Is two years into a deal too soon to talk; one more year and it seems to be too late with two years remaining being the trigger for panic. Can the club find a middle ground?

It seems the club is locked in a cycle whereby the young are satisfied, the mature players are discontented with their lot. Perhaps Oxlade-Chamberlain is signalling a change to that approach. Shorter renegotiation cycles which are triggered by achievements both for the team and personally, the latter has to happen. I don

we are not asking them to spend over their means but a net profit from transfers of $15m for the past how many donkey years liao

its almost like we have to fubd our own transfers by selling our players...

even small clubs can spend a negative few hundred ks

Their money are well spend plus handsome profit from sales of players, they are doing very well.

we're not doing so bad, i won't say we're doing very well

because the measure can only be justified by winning trophies i'm afraid.
