Hi Guys,

I'm currently planning to get a 2-3yrs old Airwave as my family has 6persons which could be kind of squeezy for a normal sedan.

Noticing the small population of Honda Airwaves on our sg roads, is it possible if i can invite Airwave owners to share some feedback on the car?

Details such as Fuel consumption, Interior Space, Interior and exterior design, benefits of a skyroof vs non-sky roof and ride quality will be very much welcomed... Thanks! [:)]

6 pax should consider Edix mah. Get the 2litre one with K20A engine, plenty of boot space.

The 1.7 version must rev very high then car will respond... I test drive before, cmi...

Now 2litre resale also not much diff in price to 1.7A

Hi all,

I'm also considering to get the Airwave, but then I have been looking at the Fit/Jazz models and also thought of the new Fit Shuttle Hybrid. The technology used in the new Fit Shuttle Hybrid is really hi-tech, perhaps you guys can research more on that. But then, I have been researching and trying to choose which car to get between these 3:

1) Honda Airwave

2) Honda Jazz

3) Honda Fit Shuttle Hybrid

Which one would you guys recommend, if I say I go for boot space? Is the jazz long enough for an average person to sleep behind when the back seats are down? The FC for Fit Shuttle Hybrid portrayed on the internet is 40km/l, FYI. (That's why I'm not comparing the FC for now because FSH definitely wins.)

Another thing is PI cars; I have car dealer friends that advised me not to get PI cars as the parts are not cheap to get and not covered under warranty what-so-ever. Is this true to a certain extend?

Thanks a lot for reading and hope you guys here can help me out to get my dream car. =)

Hi, do you know how much an airwave cost in June 2009? COE (Open Cat) is 6000, OMV is 17000

I think it would cost less than 70k in 2009 when new as coe is only 6k. If its not honda, would be less than 60k

For reference, when I got my ex-Airwave back in June 2007, it cost $64,888 from Vincar. COE then was $16k and OMV $14+k.

If you're looking to fit in 6,you should take a look into other cars as Airwave is still 5 seater. Plus point for wagons is that it has huge boot. Good if you need to use the huge boot space.

Been using this car for 5yrs+.No major problems/repairs. Usual stuffs like servicing, change of plugs, brake pads, etc. Averaging FC of 14km+/l.

My turn to contribute. I've driven my AW since June 2008. Mileage is high: 125,000 km, as I work in the west, stays in the east.

Average FC: 13km/L

Best FC: 15.6km/L

Highest number of passenger: 5 humans, 2 jack russell terriers, 2 husky(seat at the boot).

Aircon: Is perfectly fine.

Furthest destination with it: KL, Port Dickson.

Remarks: So far, no problem as long as you do regular servicing. I got the normal 1.5M(auto) w/o skyroof. Serves me well. Even when I go Ikea, folding down the rear seats, allows me to push in the whole rack. Love this car. When I need to change car, I will for sure stick with wagon or SUV in order to retain the benefits.

Got it second hand with moonroof, full body kit & 17" rim 215/40 R17. gear box consider smooth. got to maintain la. comes wit SOHC Vtec. with a 17" my Fc around 15 litre per km on average as i have a light foot. response quite lag to those who are new to AW. but for people like us, we know how to start up quick. its pretty strange. S mode is Sports mode u can whack it.. Vtec open @ 2300 rpm u just shut off the audio to hear the nice vtec note. got an upgrade on board K&N air filter for $110, it makes a big different. chiong with Altis & subaru impreza before.
