Bro, compared to the Jetta, which one is better?

Anyway, what the latest price?

they quoted me 93,888 for the fluence nett.. i haven't take a look at the jetta yet! waiting for the new jetta to arrive in june. :D vw trying to clear current jetta now <_< promotion at 103k for 1.4tsi. not sure if it's over already or not.

but i gotta say fluence is very huge on the exterior, if you never heard of it before, it might even seems like a 2.0! [laugh]

but interior kinda disappointing.. not much legroom as i expected. headroom quite low too(head gonna touch the ceiling even though im pretty short -_-).

on the plus side, boot space is incredible. love the doors especially  overall quite a nice car but not suited for tall and big sized ppl [:/]

but don't let my opinion get over you, you should take a look for yourself!

cheers!

Badge is French but body is Korean.

Totally agreed! The model they are selling here in Singapore is actually a rebadged Samsung SM3, a true and true MIK, designed and manufactured in Korea. The real Renault Fluence is the one that are manufactured in Turkey for the European market. The difference is of course the grille and more importantly the engine. The Samsung SM3, they called it the Fluence here in Singapore is powered by a Nissan engine whereas the European's Fluence is powered by original Renault engine. It is like having a Korean face guy with an angmo surname, but he doesn't speak with the angmo slant and flair. If that is the case, shouldn't the Fluence, to be exact the Samsung SM3 be selling at price level parallel to other MIK models like Forte, Cruze (aka Daewoo Lacetti) and Avante? By the way, the French beside than having more flairs in their designs, has not been noted for their prowess in automobile excellents in petrol engine developement and have some reliability problem (ask most Renault owners' experiences of visiting the workshops). Also, all other Korean made cars have performances in excess of 120+ horsepower with 6-speed tiptronic gearboxs whereas the SM3 (Fluence) managed only a mere 112 horsepower couped with a boring CVT gearbox. What has the agent done to justfy the premier in prices over its other MIK counterparts like Forte, Cruze and Avante? Just a change of badge to a French one worth so much?

A bit unreal, shipment's ETA date is usually quite accurate and even if the ship did arrive early, it won't be early by almost 10 days. You better check the mileage of the car when you collect your new car and make sure they don't give you a testdrive or display car.

Renault Fluence

Its a conti car, joint develop engine wif Nissan , assembled in South Korea.

In south korea, its called Renault Samsung SM3

But when its exported, its called the Renault Fluence.

FYI, Renault owned Nissan's shares...

Last time Samsung Motors have ties wif Nissan.

Due to the acqusition of Nissan, Reanult bought over the shares in Samsung Motors as well.

This lead to this tie up.

Side track abit....

Chevrolet Cruze is also known as Daewoo Lacetti Premiere....

Daewoo is also under GM...

Its also built in South Korea btw

[:)]

Make it seem like those affordable conti cars are never really conti.. More like asian cars with a premium Badge..

No wonder the prices are on par with those Jap/Korean cars.

Anyone went for a test drive? I think it is a better buy than taiyota.

More air bags but only cost one grand more, quite worth it.

I did not test drive the car but sat in it outside the showroom, the back seat is spacious.

Any comments?

simplistic design..
