The GLX manual is a superb car man. Its not under power, able to pack some punch and FC generally can get around 12 depending on how heavy/light foot you are.

Yeah... i know it's more powerful than auto.. I'm just saying about the demand of manual cars.. dealers dun really fancy it... I drove manual lancer b4.. nice but reselling value sucks to the core...

Am driving an Mz3. Used to drive a Lancer GLX when I learnt driving. I think if you want a nice interior (and exterior), get the Mz3 [nod] My FC is btwn 11-12km/l (60% city driving). But if you're the sort who MUST rocket off once the light turns green, the Mz3 is out. Lancer I dunno cos never really got close to doing a drag race when learning driving [;)]

Both cars have sturdy engines and therefore are reliable.

Driven both before and the deciding factor might be the look of the car from the eyes of the eventual owner.

Yah. But it all depends on a good bodykit shop. Been there....done that....dekit.....sold and now back to stock kit.

Evo becomes 'beng' when its modded too much. If kept stock, its not bad. A nice day to day drive that can escape fm TP sud u need to. :D

Thats what i think too. Stock is more class. Too much mods make e car[ n owner too] look cheap.

Ah bengs like to mod till dunno what cos want to stand out from e crowd but fr e wrong reasons.

Understated class is so much nicer. Look at those really ex cars. Most dont mod at all cos e stock car already stands out fr e right reasons.

BTW did u manage to get a panel beater yet n what happen to yr car?

hi all, i am hunting for my 1st car, due to the budget constraint, i decided to go for a 2nd hand car with around 2years old, and i narrow down to the mitsubishi lancer 1.6 and mazda 3, if u are owning / hv owned any of them, can share with me any good/bad experience with them? thanks.

lancer engine quite noisy, and boot space small, both lancer and mz3 rear leg space small

FC wise, lancer is better

a lancer GLX will always be a lancer GLX. no matter how u mod. who you wanna con? pri 3 kids?

lancer GLX is very spacious for the price. much much better than mz3. but i have a fren who drives glx manual commented that when it goes fully capacity (i.e. 4 persons in the car), it's a struggle

think the worse is those unnecessary LEDs around the car..i don't and will never understand why that is nice. it really cheapens the car imho.. [:/]

I think most of e pple who ''dress'' their car to look like a herse r new car owners.

To them, owning e car is a very big deal n want to show it off to e max. Ty want as many pple as possible to notice their car n hopefully also e driver inside. Unfortunately ty do get noticed but dont realise that most pple r actually laughing at them.

Lancer GLX is very old school inside and outside out compared even to the previous Mazda 3.

The only reason it has good FC and pick up is because it is light and that is because it has no sound proofing and little safety features and gadgets. No magic formula here.

When I drive or sit in a Lancer GLX, I feel like I am in one of those 1990s COE renewed Jap 1.6L cars. It is so noisy, engine noise is so bad you feel as if you are in the same room as the engine and road noise is loud even at very low speeds.

Please don't get the Lancer unless it is for FC and pick up. Avoid the CVT as it is problematic.

Go for the Mazda 3.

it is no brainer to compare lancer GLX and mazda 3, mazda 3 win outright.

but if TS is talking about lancer EX vs mazda 3, that is more of debatable issue.

reading through the replies, some are actually refer to lancer EX.(spacious, look like evo, etc)
