I think carbon fibre wrapping is extremely ugly.

Wonder why on earth will someone want to wrap a nicely painted car body with a black sheet.

Sometimes pple want to b different to stand out from the crowd.

Maybe thats why we can see so many beautiful cars spoiled by ugly decorations. Incl those LEDs that make the car look like a funeral car. [laugh]

But to the owners, ty r beautiful. [:p][laugh][laugh]

i did mine $100 for oracal CF which i thought was reasonable pricing considering a freelance quoted 120 lowest

different cars different price so chk before u ask them to start wrapping!

remember to ask which country the sticker comes from as well.

Yes, car wraps can resist scratches but it is not anti-scratch. Meaning, it is just an additional protection above your paint. People using keys to scratch cars will probably scratch and realise that the wrap film has peeled off. With an intent to scratch, he will probably put in additional effort to scratch the paint underneath the peeled wrap film.

However if you wrap your car with stone-chip protection film (very thick film, but also expensive), people who has intent to scratch cars will have to put in alot of effort (again, it has a very high resistant to scratches but not anti-scratch).

thanks for your info.

I want to point out that there are China-made imitations of Oracal CF vinyl in the market.

How do you differentiate the real and fake?

The real Oracal carbon fiber is soft because it is cast PVC film. When you remove the vinyl, it does not damage the paint and there is little or no residue left behind. It has Oracal 975 printed on the liner. Cast PVC film is expensive due to the effort put in during production and the benefit is that it will not shrink and can last for 5 to 10 years with proper care.

The fake is polymeric PVC film looks pretty solid and good on the exterior, but the adhesive is questionable.

Adding on to what I said earlier. If a Oracal carbon fiber wrap costs less than a 3M CF wrap, the material used is probably of questionable origin.

so it is pointless only for cosmetic and self feel good factor.

It is not really pointless. Car wrap can protect your car-paint from corrosive bird-droppings and it is also easy to clean. Carbon fiber bonnet and decals also help you to identify your car.
