There is always a high risk when riding bike, whether you a careful rider or not. I appeal to all driver to be on an extra lookout for those riders and cyclists on the road. Their life is as much precious as ours.

Many cars are really annoyed by motorcyclist.

I drive car and motorcycle.

When I maintain the same gap and pace in my car....the back car NEVER horned or tailgate.

But the same road, same me on my motorcycle, same pace and gap with the front car......invariably the back car will tail gate me, some will horn and mostly overtake me on the left lane and gave me the sign of their displeasure!

Its not the motorcyclist fault actually.....99% its the other drivers that somehow seems to be annoyed that a motorcyle is infront of them, although the motorcycle is keeping pace.

Cars also like to 'shoot out' from small road even when they see a motorcyle approaching, however the same car would never shoot out had I being in my car instead of riding my motorcycle.

Can't agree with you more.

I ride, drive both supermini hatchback and bigger-sized sedan. Worst experience overall is when riding when maintaining safe distance and pace. Supermini is slightly better experience compared to bike, but still get horned and high beamed frequently for no apparent good reasons.

The sedan is best experience so far. Far lesser chance of getting high beamed and horned or tailgated. Sometimes, even when I am driving leisurely, the rear vehicles just follow obediently and overtake when safe to do so.

Size does count, at least for driving in this tiny red dot.

I'm not a motorcyclist but I think this phenomenon is known as the "I have a car big deal syndrome"..big cars eat small cars..small cars eat motorcycles [laugh]

Sometimes it makes my blood boils.....I was thinking of buying those LED day running light and install at the back of my motorcycle box.

If anyone dare to horn or flash me at night...I will flash them back!

But then hor...I never ride my motorcyle at night.....its balrdy dangerous to ride at night!

I only ride my motorcycle for certain errands, especially when the destination has expensive or limited carparks!

its the mentality of, who big, who wins. ever see big trucks just change lanes or cut out of filter lanes without checking traffic? [rolleyes]

Aboslutely..... but I think drivers should be glad that the motorcycle is in front and not those zooming pass you from the side. Those that ride freaking fast from the side are the ones asking for trouble. I had many experience as these riders rides faster than the nominal speed during rush hr.... while you signal looking at the mirror and worry hitting the car in front, one farking moron motorbike speeding in between 2 cars appear from no where....

I always curse them to kenna langa.

But for safe riders, I always drive a distance away just in case they skid, last thing is to run over them. But recently many motor cyclist got run over by trucks and cars... its a jungle out there.

Pls ride safe and dont ride fast in between cars, its not worth it!

I, too, ride a bike for leisure and running errands only, while I drive most of the time.

Most drivers (big car / small car , any car/van/taxi) are just not gracious and understanding enough to accept motorcyclist are part of the legal road users too !

The motorcyclist pay road tax too, but don't seem to be "given" some road presence by other road users. Most just do not give way or let the motorcyclist stay in lane, hence they are squeezed in between lanes.

There was once where I was riding in a 2 way street with only one lane on each side. There is a vehicle parked in the opposite lane, and an oncoming car driver was driving onto my lane (I have the right of way) from afar presumably to avoid the parked vehicle. As I have the right of way, I rode along thinking and hoping the driver will move back to her lane to let me through. Guess you know what happen next. The bloody driver just continued and drove at speed too towards me, without giving way, I almost kerbed myself and fell.

Caught up with her, and questioned her actions. And simply she says "oh, i did not "SEE" you, anyway there is an obstruction infront, so I drive onto your lane lor"............

I agree, it is a big eat small mentality out there. But that doesn't mean that all motorcyclist are any lesser than the drivers !

The authorities should started a campaign to educate the drivers that riders need their space on the road too. Sincerely hope all road users can respect eacth other, and keep a safe distance, and don't speed irresponsibly.

I notice motor bike like to hide at the side of my car blind spot. Is there a reason for this, i just don't understand.

I notice in Malaysia, bike travel on the shoulder lane. I mean if they are allow to travel at the shoulder lane in Singapore, it will be safer for them.

There are too many car on the main road, it really unsafe for them
