Dear VW Owners,

I hereby would like to share the experience with VW.

I own a VW Golf 1.4 TSI and visited VW 3 times within 1.5 year. Gear Box problem, Battery problem, engine problem and it is causing me to go insane with the frequent inconvenience to go without the car! After the Gear Box Problem, they gave me an extended warranty of 1 year on top of the usual 3years warranty, BUT, they never send me the warranty until today.

This few days, I am selling the car and told the agent that I have additional 1 year warranty and therefore he quoted be a better price. Today, I visited VW and requested for a proof of additional 1 year warranty. I find out it contain a clause that it is non-transferable! What nonsense is this? This warranty is to warranty the car, and not to warranty the owner right? This clause is unfair to me I feel! Let me quote an example, if I bought a TV and was given 2 years warranty, and 1 year later, if I sell it away, will the TV still be under warranty? It doesnt make sense if after I sell the TV away, the warranty do not apply anymore because it is sold to another owner.

I hereby advise those with similar problems to carefully look at the terms and conditions from VW, and if VW offer you anything in return to compensate for their problematic cars, do look at the T&C before accepting. Furthermore, please take the warranty from them, if not, they will say whatever they want since they wont give you the warranty as it is P&C.

Hi folks,

I am considering between a VW Golf 1.4 GT TSI 2009 model vs Honda Civic 2.0 2009 model.

Some of my friends who have been driving VW claims that VW is less reliable as compared to Civic. I have friends who have overhauled their turbos and even the entire engine.

The price of Golf is attractive as compared to a Civic.

Please advise if it is worth it to get the golf. Also what are the major problems that a 1.4 GT TSI has? Would not want to make a wrong choice in buying my first car.

Thanks in advance!

Lester

Hi everyone, first time posting in this forum.. tho have been following for considerable long period of time already..

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/cars/volkswagen/volkswagen-golf-10-tsi-bluemotion-review/

'The three-cylinder motor is taken from the Up city car, but with a turbo to boost that car’s 74bhp output to a healthier 113bhp, along with 148lb ft of torque. In official fuel tests it averaged 65.7mpg, which is 8mpg more efficient than VW’s 1.2-litre, 84bhp petrol engine, but still 17mpg shy of its 1.6-litre Bluemotion diesel.'

With the type of roads we have right here paired with such specifications, this would make the perfect car to be used in Singapore.

Anyone have any idea if VGS will bring this in?

That's the thing!

If ECU breakdown, the whole car break down.

Right now I feel the jerk again when gear is shifted especial from 1st to 2nd gear, 4th to 5th gear.

I told the service advisor is gear issue, he tell me is ECU problem...
