Precisely.... the ultimate MPV. Since new Jap MPV are so ex, get a used R350, more power more status and more "SAT"!! Your family come down with shorts and slippers from R350 will still look elite compare to a Previa or whatever.

I have been eyeing a cat A mpv. Available models, incl parallel import, are Honda freed, touran (std version), terios, Peugeot 5008 & toyota sienta.

 

I rule out terios out cos of it's higher fc & a thinly disguised 2wd in a 4wd body.

 

I rule out peugeot as this is a French model w little available spare parts locally & privet.

 

Freed is a value for $ choice but needs para impt & looks ugly (some says it is Prime taxi while others say looks like coffin car).

 

Touran is a reliable German car buy is 20k pricer than freed. The more powerful Sports ver is another 20k pricer. The cost will then be near a regular Japan 1.8l/2l mpv.

 

I am looking at 7 seater for practical reasons. Higher seating capacity, low fc & next comfort + short chasis length.

I was looking at Freed and Sienta too at one point in my car search. I think they are really squeezy and not comfortable on car trips more than 30 mins.

I also feel that safety will be compromised, with not much protection since they seemed to have emptied out the internals just to fit 7 passengers.

 

Touran may be a better choice however I won't rule out the Jap's Wish and Stream though their price may not be worth it, given the reliability and availability of Jap parts. If Touran don't have the DSG gearbox issues, I think it will be a good buy for your needs.
