Kelpie 2nd Gear February 24, 2011 Share February 24, 2011 Good point. I was thinking of less clutter of desk space, and portability (dad and mum can easily borrow for use... ) Like me. I bought a Lenovo for my kids. hook up existing external monitor, keyboard and mouse. Can also bring it around anyway in the house, including to the toilet . Initially also not use to idea of netbook but later find it so convenient and extremely light. Good for travel use too. For internet surfing and simple word processing no issue at all. Better than using i-phone or smartphone to surf web. Regards,

Fireball0088 5th Gear February 24, 2011 Share February 24, 2011 agree with the others... it won't cost much to purchase a laptop. Afterall netbook is slow in speed and like what Jman888 mentioned, the screen is small and it will strain their eyes... I think the price difference is worth paying coz it's more lasting compared to netbook? actually, just look for a second hand one or get those mini desktop will do fine. but remember to get a big screen. dont need notebook as you don't need bring it around
