How come the bhp so low? I thought it's suppose to be higher?

Base on sgcarmart prices, it is way too high for a MIK car.

Rather get a Madza 3.

I think that the price should be tag close to Cerato Forte.

If I'm not wrong, the bhp should be highest in it's class, compare 1.6NA. Price slightly higher than forte because it's newly launched what. I don't see how elantra will lose to madza 3 when it has more horses, 6 speed, lower price and maybe higher level more equipment! Well other than it's MIJ, I feel there's nothing about madza 3 that is better than elantra.

I was hoping that they are bringing in the GDI version. That would certainly entice me.

For a price like this for a MIK, I feel that it is overpriced. Unless it's the GDI version. The features and looks doesnt differ much from M3 except for the gearbox which is not really an issue in SG.

my family used to have such view of MIK cars (as in generally MIK badges and not like fluence/cruze) but after visiting komoco showroom, they changed their minds. now they feel MIK cars are actually surpassing MIJ cars in terms of quality and looks as well.

and personally i mind the elantra look so much better than the Mz3..

P.S. for a moment i thought the real 4L M3 [laugh]

Average Singaporean keep their cars for about 4-5 years before getting a new ride. So for me, I won't spend more $$$ just to buy a car with MIJ or MIT tag. I want my money to work out the best for me. So even if the Elantra selling at higher price, it is still lesser than most Japanese makes. In short I would put it, these days MIK cars have great packages, in terms of pricing, equipment, performance and economy. I would never expect myself to say that if not for my first look at MIK cars when the previous Cerato and Avante were launched in SG. They really changed my point of view since.

Neutral Newbie

personally i think Madza 3 is better in road handling and steeling wheel feedback. Driving a Madza 3 now and had test drive the new Avante on Monday. I was impressed with the new Avante of the power and overall package, but personally I don't quite like the interior design and the OMV is rather low for the current sales price.

I have tested the Mazda 3 & Avante in 2009 when I was shopping for a 1.6 saloon. Mazda 3 gave me a steady feel but a tad under power. Avante was surprisingly more perky. Maybe it could be due to the body weight of both.

OMV for MIK cars, are generally low

Last year July, I tried Mazda 3, Forte and Avante. It is true that 1.6 Mazda 3 was sluggish, Avante was better of all in terms of pick up. Avante I did not pick up as the model was to change sooner or later. Chose Mazda 3 2L between this and Forte 2L. Forte 2L was going cheap at 72999, while Mazda 3 was for 86999. However, chosing Mazda 3 worked out to be better as it is +30K now, while Forte 2L is just +20K!
