if I am not wrong, is a transparent plastic sheet paste on the metal panel holding the grill and headlights

Sounds both useful and low-key, good combo.

Hi all, got a really disappointing reply from Motor Image today regarding my ride and would advise any potential buyer to get their subaru from my SE since it is obviously his mistake and both himself and the customer service sucks big time!

Reply from MI:

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Good Morning!

Our apologies for keeping you waiting.

We regret to inform you that the grey stitches cannot be changed as it is originally from Japan, only the stitches on the leather seat can be changed.

As regards the forward sensor (2P 3rdEye) installation issues, please be informed that all Forward Sensor that was installed by us works the same way. A switch need to be turned on whenever forward parking is required. If not, it will be activated all the time even in situation where the vehicle is stopping too near to the front vehicle at the traffic light.

We will get our installer to check on your sensor and the paint chip during your 1st servicing. Paint chip at sensor may be caused by the installation of front sensor. If so, contractor will have to be responsible in the rectification not limited to re-spray of the paint work.

For the rims, it is advised to have them changed by Motor Image. It is not recommended to go through outside contractors. As if not installed properly by them, it will affect the warranty on wheel bearing and wheel alignment.

Thank you.

I dont have to wait 2 plus weeks for such reply from MI. Irresponsible ..

Relax bro..

Just pissed that we have such lousy aftersales services.

I just paid on my own to rectify the issues. Its not the money, more of the lousy aftersales.

Where else did you find the the grey stitches?  I thought they were on the arm rest...and those leather should also be locally wrapped?  Not sure what MI is referring to as "originally from Japan".

I dont trust a thing they said now and anyway time to move on.

Just be careful when your SE said everything can be done.

whatever they wrote on Deliver Order as "commited rectifications" are bulls**t as well!

Hi guys,

Great price!  The cargo tray is AUD146 in Perth so about the same price..  A friend was there for a holiday and he popped by the Subaru dealership there for a looksee. Unfortunately he was unable to get it for me this time because his luggage was full!!!

Cheers!

Went for 1000km servicing for FXT this morning and saw a red wine coloured Outback queue no 8 that was there too. Looked impeccably kept, anyone here? Haha

Got to admire the car more closely as never really did before. Outback has more trims and detailing that makes it look a bit more premium than FXT eg the detailing of the roof rail. Can see why it is marketed as a higher range compared to Forester.

What is experienced consumption on OB?

Depends on right foot road conditions.. think most get avg 11km/litre. Edited by BenTong

Hi Guys,

My 3 weeks old Outback had suddenly auto-disabled the SRVD and the SRVD is no longer working.

I searched the web and this seems to be a common error.

Anyone else encountered this and managed to get it resolved?

Thanks

Suggest to send in to MI to rectify it.

My lucky ride was affected by the possible failure in electronic parking brake, recalled by MI and done the software upgrade today.

Any Legacy / OB owner here get affected as well? It had the error once that parking brake cant b released - but after few on/off , it worked.

it says 222 units are afffected in SIN.

Same thing happened to my 2 week old ride yesterday i.e. SRVD disabled for no reason after I heard a "beep" & the warning appeared on the dash. Was near Leng Kee so drove it in to check it out. Left the engine running just in case the warning light disappears if I stopped and restarted the car, got the service guy to come take a look for himself. Since I was there, did the 1K service. The report was I must have accidentally switched the SRVD off accidentally, which I was sure I did not. I did however push the on/off button for the SRVD a few times when it disabled to see if I could turn it on again to no avail. Anyway, let's see what happens going forward.

With regards to the parking brake not releasing, it happened to me a few times, thought it was just a glitch and did not realize it was a recall issue.  My car's month of manufacture is May...would have thought the software update is installed.  Guess I better bring it in again.

BTW, Veyron, did the software update take long? Thanks.

Nope, it says about 60 - 90 mins. Left my car there as needing to go somewhere else.

in US, this recall seems to be more serious..https://www.cars.com/recalls/subaru-outback-2015/

Hope it doesn't affect ours  :a-t2622:
