maybe yr air intake throttle body dirty. My car at 30k mileage will vibrate when stationary n rpm goes when at redlight, i have experienced jerking when pickup speed. Also on slope my auto transmission cvt engine stall 3x. Thought it was sparkplug, cables, engine mount crack etc.. Then send for servicing, they say throttle body dirty, mechanic clean the throttle body & everything went back normal. Just pay labour clean throttle body is not expensive.. Can diy also if u know how. So if yr mileage crosses 50k already & throttlebody has never been cleaned, do that 1st n observe, will save u more $ then replacing other parts

if throttle body dirty can cause so much trouble. my take is once in awhile clear carbon. dun keep thinking of wanna save petrol step lightly move off slowly etc. once in awhile work the car hard. save u all the money on throttle body cleaning. how much petrol u waste from clearing carbon? $2/-?

throttlebody dirty cannot be solved by high rpm as its not part of combustion chamber. It can prolonged by changing airfilter regularly n using only stock paper filter. Even stock paper filter still allows fine dust.. Asian road so dusty sure dirty. If u use aftermarket k&n or other brand filter will admit more dust. Diff car model will have different tolerance towards dirty throttlebody on its performance. My previous car throttlebody damn dirty also will not jerk or stall. My current ccar slightly dirty will have this problem, it mainly the oxygen sensor that is connected to throttlebody that is sending the signal. Both cars i use k&n filter.. To me i just clean throttlebody more often maybe 20k once.

My car experienced jerk when accelerating but only when going up slope, this is especially obvious when the slope is also a bend. What could be the likely cause?

I had sent the car to the workshop, they had changed the ATF and replaced a controller but the problem is still there.

I suspect the gearbox is going to expire and thinking of changing it. Do anyone know about how much it cost. i am driving an Verna.

could be slippage in the transmission (gear)...quite common for some high mileage cars (my american car used to do this too once it went above 70K miles)...there's nothing tat u can really do abt it....maybe start saving up for a new transmission?

tks for sharing your experience... is there anyway to check if it is the ignition cables?

I have seen my mechanic check before they have a meter like checking the insulation of electrical wire. Immediately can pin point if the cable is faulty :D
