Bring bus fares down? You must be dreaming. The theory here is anything when the price went up will never come down!

I do my maths....$7.96 divide 419 = $18997.6

Funny....I paid about the same amount of ARF for my Honda Jazz.

 

Buses are dirt cheap I suppose?

ARF is different percentage for motorcycle, bus and car de.

 

A bare bus easily cost at least 200K. Normally, chassis is imported and rest locally fitted.

Yeah. This move will make sense if they want to improve on the service and quality of bus services.

Ok this will add to their multi-million profit! Anyone knows how much? IIRC it's in the tens of millions.

my suspicion is that their operating cost is going up and they cant raise prices now because the ptc dont apporve it because of election. if additional revenue cannot be earned from commutters to satisfy their rising operating cost, the revenue must come from somewhere else, and in this case the garmen

 

if this is true, in a way one can say it is some form of a public transpoprt subsidy

I think gahmen for now taking away ARF for new buses is so that the bus companies can import in more buses to suit the demand.

ARF for private buses is 5 per cent of its OMV.
