Pisces69 6th Gear March 22, 2011 Share March 22, 2011 Grey polarized clip-on will help to a certain extend (though may not help for those HID blue lights). I am wearing it during day, night, raining and snowing (if it happens here). Polaroids help a bit with road glare cos it cuts the reflection on the road. Yellow n amber lenses remove blue light which is what makes it difficult to see in fog/rain. I know cos Ive been using them for donkey years already. Now I still looking fr yellow for night n hazy conditions. ↡ Advertisement
Pisces69 6th Gear March 22, 2011 Share March 22, 2011 haha cause i was going along the lines of abit blu-ish want try cause backside itchy haha. but not sure legal or not. philips bulbs got colour choice? I think Crystal Vision is a bit bluish N Diamond is bright white. I think Diamond actually not legal cos its for off-road but I doubt TP wil bother anymore, unless u aim too high n dazzle on-coming n cars in front of u. But note bluish is bad for rain n fog cos u cant see much.
Pisces69 6th Gear March 22, 2011 Share March 22, 2011 Doubt there is clear polarized clip-on, but if polarized glasses, maybe can try asking spectacle shops (but should be super expensive even if you can find one). Anyway, tinted polarized clip-on will give clearer view compared to without it. Polarized clip-ons r only abt $10-$15 ea N a bit cheaper in JB, but so far I only find grey n amber. Last time got yellow but now cannot find.
Pisces69 6th Gear March 22, 2011 Share March 22, 2011 Strange, my car came with FOG LIGHTS and I ve only used them like less than 10 times in 3 years, mostly in Msia. Why do we have so many drivers in SG who cannot see the lanes properly at night or in the rain? Maybe need an eye sight check? I think those driving with additional fog lights are just trying to make their cars look brighter, just like the once a upon a time car sticker craze which has died down. The car accessory shops are laughing to the bank. Some I reckon get the feeling that brighter = more 'sart', which is ...ok nevermind......Recently I even encountered an Altis with aftermarket fog lights, head lights and led light in front all turn on, at same time. The lights were white and very bright. When he stopped behind me at the traffic lights, I though Armageddon is coming after my arse. Many drivers here r like small boys. Ty on foggies like playing wh a new toy in front of neighbours house to show off. That shows how immature n deprived some of our drivers r.
Pisces69 6th Gear March 22, 2011 Share March 22, 2011 Maybe my current grey polarised glasses are darker. I have also a pair of light grey glass with anti reflective coating. Almost similar to the day and night safety specs, it does help. My ideal glasses shall be the clear polarised glasses with anti-reflective coating. U can get clear plastic safety glasses with polarized n ultraviolet A n b blocking. Its those used in factories n industries but some pple wear them wil feel giddy. Pisces69 6th Gear March 22, 2011 Share March 22, 2011 oh thanks alot! but i thought HID will be stronger so even if it's blue should be quite bright and clear right? HID is very much brighter. Sometimes 2X brighter but its not allowed as aftermarket. Plus now Msia gharmen mentioned ty going to start catching those foreign(SG) cars with super bright misaligned headlights cos its becoming a big nuisance n danger on MY roads. Kevinivek Neutral Newbie March 22, 2011 Share March 22, 2011 Please be informed, charts showing different bulbs at different colour temperatures- promo material or not- are relatively baseless in a realistic going-down-to-shop-to-install scenario. Due to the fact that colour temperature is relative, there is no point looking at a chart to see what colour you want because different times of day will give different results due to the so called "auto white balance" inherent in human brains. There is, however, doing some research to get results. Natural daylight is 5500K to 5600K. But you aren't going to turn on your headlights in the day, you turn them on at night obviously. Street lamps are in the 2000k+ range, and your eyes adjust to compensate. Then your nice "pure-white" bulbs turn out to be blue. Maybe blue floats your boat, but eyes get fatigued from blueish headlights. Don't fall for the "super-white" or "pure-white" marketing, 5000K+ bulbs are going to look blue at night, period. But if blue lights or chingay cars are your thing thats a different story haha.
Pisces69 6th Gear March 23, 2011 Share March 23, 2011 haha actually i dont drive to MY often. maybe like once in every 5 years? just worried will get in trouble with lta or smth. LTA even more dangerous. MY polis just RM50 can settle. Here its maybe $200 plus u must fit back original lights n go fr inspection.

Pisces69 6th Gear March 23, 2011 Share March 23, 2011 "distraction" something like eyes off the road. Where u got this info from? I never heard of this at all. Like that ty also ban speedometers, radio n all instruments cos ty also cause u to take yr eyes off the road. How about got sweet mei mei beside or behind u. Even bigger distraction. So ty also ban mei mei from sitting in cars? Like that ty can only sit bus ah?
