Looking at smartphone while holding it or is it mounted on windscreen? If while it is mounted, then looking at speedometer or meters n radio is also illegal. [rolleyes]

Illegal is likely while holding it n keying info in. Just like using mobile while holding in hand is illegal but if u use a handsfree kit, its OK.

It does not state on that summarized version of that article. Anyone here have 19 dec 2010 version of the straits times? [:p]

anyway might be illegal even if mounted on windscreen cause it's a opportunity to distract you. (how will a tachometer/speedometer distract u long enough? usually a glance is sufficient)

i guess the only way is to ask TP [:/]

If that is illegal then ty wil also mention GPS is illegal as its the same thing.

Then SG become 1st again. The 1st in the world to ban using GPS while driving. [laugh][laugh][laugh]

For me quick tapping of brake is a better warning.

very dangerous what happen it u tap and that joker atually jam brake and cause a serie accidents.

i have seen it happen b4 just beside my car [sweatdrop]

but mostly after i on my rear foglight then tend to back off maybe thinkin it was my warning [laugh][laugh]

b4 doing what u suggested [laugh]

dedicated GPS not illegal cause it's not a phone afterall. i guess as long anything to do with looking at a phone is illegal. [:/]

using dedicated GPS so phone apps do not affect me [cool]

haha same here. has a holux.. but doesn't seem very effective :/ keeps asking me to u-turn even though there is another possible way straight ahead. doesn't bother to recalculate the journey <_<

I got a friend who wired his off light to his brake lights. So it really simulate braking without lifting feet off gas pedal.

But if u dont hold it in yr hands n r able to keep both hands on the wheel, it is not illegal as e law is u must keep both hands on the wheel n not b holding the phone.

Thats why if u use the phone while driving BUT u use a hands-free device, it is not illegal.

Again it is clear using a mobile while driving is NOT against the law. Only if u hold it in yr hand does it become an offence.

eh. the website like revamped liao.

i dont see anything at all regarding color temperature. only states fog light can be white or yellow.

http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onem...tion_guide.html

Fog lamps n NOT headlamps can b yellow but now importers dont install yellow anymore but only normal yellowish/white fog lamps as we dont really hv fog in SG. I do see some older models that still hv the yellow foggies but they r getting fewer n fewer. Im not sure if this is a "recommendation" from LTA or not. [sly]

i wonder whats wrong with pure yellow anyway. beats having blue or purple or green lights.

If u r refering to fog lamps, then it says clearly in the LTA website its allowed PROVIDED it has the approved markings that it is a fog lamp n not a spot lamp.

Headlamps must still b the normal slightly yellowish colour(halogen) or even white now. Blue/Green is NOT allowed.

Hi bros/sis,

Just wanna ask if adding fog lighting does help with visibility. Especially on rainy days.

I find it quite hard to see lane markings at times during rainy days. So have been contemplating in adding fog light if it does help.

Hopefully bros/sis here can give me some tips on whether it helps or not.

Considering to ask my AD on the cost of adding one.

Thanks

if its in the day, wearing sunglasses help

Very sorry.

It's fog light.

So if someone tailgate him, he will toggle his foglight switch to simulate tapping of brake.
