This stuff is really hard once cured.

I tried rubbing hard with undiluted IPA and it did not budge, only managed to remove it with PO91E + cutting pad after several passes.

Indeed really hard once cured..they have mentioned that only hard machine polishing will remove OC..

hmmm....the sheeting looks quite slow as compared to some of the better sealants/waxes that I've used before....interesting....

Yes Kris..agreed that the sheeting is pretty slow..even OptiSeal is much faster and beading is much round..Not sure the real content in it but since David G called it as a coating and now a Guard..I feel that coating should not give any beading or sheeting effect but act as a new coat oc clear coat for the painted surface..

interesting..time to tell how durable it is..I will do more test to see... ^_^

(edited)

Since APC degreaser cant do much to it..I move on with Keronsene..Should kill off OC if it is a wax or sealant...Let see..

Twincharged

Seems abit like the gtechnic C1 that is being discussed in other detailing forums. The C1 will crystallize when it is exposed to air thus forming a solid layer of protection over the paint. Saw some thread that showed it makes the paint alot more swirl resistant and also can only be removed by machine polishing. However after buffing off the C1 the towel has to be thrown away cuz of the crystallization and might cause marring the next time u use it on the paint.

Does this opticoat work in the same way? Where can we get it cuz i don't think can get the C1 in Singapore. This seems to be a good alternative.

Maybe its like the C1 which is also called a sealant but actually is another solid layer over the clear coat when the liquid crystallizes. Btw where can I get this opticoat?

Hi Nzy..I have this Opti-coat up for retail..I can pm you the price if you interested..The opti-coat is only available to their Optimum distributors and professional used..

The price is not expensive at all for a coating and I think is worth to give it a try especially on any cars that does not need much preparation work on surface..

PS..Guys and gals...The price for Optimum products are retail openly except for this Opticoat as there are groomers using this for their business so that why I do not wish to post the price of this products openly..Kam sia..

You can send me a pm if you are keen to try..Application is really like a breeze..Trust me.. [;)]

Opti-Coat form a coating like a new solid clearcoat..You can still do a AIO polish and sealant on it..

You mean how does Opti-coat feel on surface?? Just like a normal sealant feel but not as slick..

The application of Opti-coat is like Opti-seal or Enviro-shield..apply and walk away..no buffing required..

Neutral Newbie

Kerosene Test..here you go..

Dun think is a sealant or wax..if it is..should have strip it off..

Met Benny at Clementi yesterday while he was doing the kerosene test, was very impressed by the durability of OC, and after checking the price with him (much lower than what I was expecting), decided to get a set too.

Can't wait to try this out on the car, will probably find some time this weekend to give the car a good polish before applying OC.

Optimum has launch the consumer coversion called Opti-Coat 2.0..The professional one we have now is re-name to Opti-Guard..The difference is the consumer version need a longer curing and this enable you to repolish if there is a need..More or less is about the same..
