LoverofCar 6th Gear April 19, 2011 Share April 19, 2011 thing is people might use the loopholes of 'guilty unless proven otherwise' to frame people. Who can prove that? If all drug criminal said that...how do we differential that? To avoid being frame...wear a spec and know what kinda people you mix with...

Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear April 19, 2011 Share April 19, 2011 (edited) Looks like the accused was aware beforehand his smuggling activity to be illegal. However, he is charged with smuggling goods more harmful than his confession. Since he participated in an illegal activity, the law can not be protecting someone found carrying out any illegal activity. In the event that what he smuggled be more serious than gold bars, he still has to face the consequences, unless proven otherwise. What I mean is: how do we expect the law protect his innocent victims downstream, if the likes of him be pardoned for an illegal activity like smuggling? Since he had volunteered himself for illegal activity like this, is there anything to suggest a pardon is appropriate? Anyone like their children/relatives/friends to be among victims of his smuggling? However, there is no stopping his loved ones from engaging investigators to expose his 'smuggling employers/contacts' if can be done (perhaps only hope to prove deviate/pardon his death sentence). Ender Hypersonic April 19, 2011 Share April 19, 2011 What if someone is really gullible in to be entrust to 'look' after a baggage.. the law can't hang some just becoz he is gullible. Just watch 'Just for Laugh' where the pranks they played like asking victim look after bag, which turned out to be filled with something like weapons and a actor posing a policeman came to 'tekan' them to get a funny reaction. Even if we educate each other not to trust strangers, bound to have a few trusting/helpful ones. Singapore drug law is once once in possession you're guilty until proven otherwise. The onus is on your lawyer and your team to prove otherwise.

The onus is on your lawyer and your team to prove otherwise. You got the point. you are right. Many years back, while driving through JB Checkpoint, a man carrying a bag appeared and asked for a lift. He said the pedestrains queue very long and he was in a hurry, so needed a lift from me. I told him to proceed to the pedestrians' queue. Later my Mom said we do not know what was in that bag if he dumped it in my car and fled. We just need to be alert that we are our own best defence against such incidents.

Lowrider 2nd Gear April 19, 2011 Share April 19, 2011 2.7kg drug can kill a lot of people in a long term, not to mention younger generation... so, sad to say, one against many potential drugs victims? No contest... ↡ Advertisement
