Lets throw around some hypothetical scenarios just for fun.

If by some alternate universe scenario, LHL was defeated in the GE - who do you think would be appointed PM?

This is assuming that the opposition does not come into power - the PAP just loses AMK, PP and HG. But not enough opposition seats to gain control. PAP still has majority - so the PM will be a PAP PM.

Remember this is just a hypothetical wargame - so dun get too excited - but let's discuss rationally.

I propose the obvious available ones (cabinet ministers) - assuming only the above wards are lost.

Be serious and think about it carefully.

Only PAP? Not fair, since you wanted fun (laugh)

so... if typically... the opposition candidate became MP at your ward, keep you estate clean and nice, build some extra shelters here and there - good enuf for you, right?

Additionally, he'd provide a voice of balance so that the RP won't run roughshod over the citizens as it has been doing the last many decade.

Since this would be better than the current PAP MP, whom you also dunno what else she did for 10 years, and whether she screw up or not - you'd want to vote for opposition, as it makes more sense, right?

of couse, that is why i am saying, i am waiting to see who are the candidate before i decide.

I am sure if such thing happened, they will come up with some story & Ah Loong will still be in power.

In fact, I think they already have a some contigency plan, just in case such scenario happened.

So don't worry about Ah Loong & sleep well ok.

Maybe in a few years time, he will "retired" from politics, citing some "reason".

Will he then be put inside some GLC/GIC or TH?

Would he still be entitled to state paid bodyguards then?

Some time back, I had the rare opportunity to take the same lift as Dr Tony Tan (former DPM) and his wife down to the basement carpark where his driver was waiting. There were only 3 of us. Greeted and shoke hands wif him, he wasn't full of air and friendly.

Would be interesting to see how it would be like when Ah Loong is back to a normal civilian.

Not forgetting, cheaper S&C charges.
