cabriole 1st Gear January 16, 2019 Share January 16, 2019 We didnt want silver or gray cos our last car was silver. I have been keeping my eyes big and open. So far, only saw 1 white and 1 black on the roads. Yet to see the dark blue but there was one for us to see at the showroom. Hoping to catch the red prius on the roads as we got to confirm the colour tomorrow. Privacy - how did you get orange? Changed the colour on your own? should be parallel import, BM dont carry this colour http://cars.kkleads.com/_/rsrc/1472863037116/whatyoucanbuy/brandnewcars/prius-alpha/color/Orange%20Metallic.jpg ↡ Advertisement
cabriole 1st Gear January 16, 2019 Share January 16, 2019 In the absence of RPM Gauge or electronic Scan Gauge, the PSD simulator can be a source to verifying. Get the page (link) to work and play with the level and you will see at 110 km/h, the rpm can be from 4000+ rpm (maximum power, most noisy) to 1200 rpm (light load/resistance cruising, quietest). Prius1200.jpg Power Split Device (PSD) http://eahart.com/prius/psd/ Hi Chonsiew, the low rpm is correct at higher speed I cruise @ 90km/h, the FC indicator hovers around 2.5L/100Km range and Eco bar @ the lower half area! hardly hear the engine noise, amazing! AngTiongWee Clutched January 16, 2019 Share January 16, 2019 Hi all: Just wanted to check how fast does your hybrid battery deplete? There was massive jam at PIE 2 days back and i tried out the EV mode. It took like less than 10 mins from 90% charge to system cut off. Seem like the battery has a small capacity.... Not sure if you guys observe the same "abnormal" or it is normal?

I didn’t on the ev mode specifically. Using normal mode but like u mention deplete very fast. Tried ev mode when turning in to carpark with half or more battery also cannot last more than 5 mins.

chonsiew 2nd Gear January 17, 2019 Share January 17, 2019 Hi all: Just wanted to check how fast does your hybrid battery deplete? There was massive jam at PIE 2 days back and i tried out the EV mode. It took like less than 10 mins from 90% charge to system cut off. Seem like the battery has a small capacity.... Not sure if you guys observe the same "abnormal" or it is normal? Is about there. But don't forget HSD almost survive entirely on electric, from cooling pumps/fans, aircond compressor to DLR lights... and if you enjoy music like me (particularly during traffic jams), the hybrid battery depletes even faster. But hell, the music is good when the car goes silent for that non-ICE moment... And while the ICE is at rest for that 10 minutes, take note that the non-hybrid/electric cars beside you will have to burn fuel continuously at 800 rpm... But again have to agree traffic jam is no good for everybody! I think Aircon sucks a great deal of power. Try at night without aircon? Right! I am happy with 24C setting with 1-Bar fan speed even at the hottest days. Anyone survive at higher temperature setting?

Yeah! Any noise is from the rolling resistant tires on bad road surface. Notice how silent when the car moves over cement surface of most carparks in EV mode - enjoy coming home silently and feel the power of the traction motor bring the heavy wagon up the carpark ramps. chonsiew 2nd Gear January 24, 2019 Share January 24, 2019 aircon consume another battery Your Prius+ 12V battery, the one behind your 3rd row seat is the most under-utilised but also most important power. Its primary function is to do a computer startup (just like your PC) when you press the START button. And once the computer decided that the car is good to go, the READY lit and the 12V battery goes to sleep but periodically got charged up by the Hybrid system. Auxiliary functions of the 12V are power supply to your radio, lights etc but for the power zapping air-cond compressor like those of your home, the power come from the Hybrid system, output from the hybrid battery. You can safely say the power of the car is entirely controlled and output by the hybrid (battery) power once it is started.

chonsiew 2nd Gear January 29, 2019 Share January 29, 2019 I signed up something similar... think it was ~$1200 up to 60K (4 servicing) or good 3 years, if yearly 20K run. My thought then was to watch and see how the leasing companies maintain their vast fleet of Prius+/Alpha... May be by then, we can ride on their possibly cheaper menu. Those who bought your Prius+ from AD that comes witg Clarion HU, the new version is out. You can get the firmware updated. It now support Android Auto.
