So I intended to make a device which I can actually remote control it, but I am trying to find places where I can get propellers and some powerful engines, and also rudder stocks. You are building the actual thing or scaled down model ? The later is easier to manage.

I will be building a prototype. Need to showcase it and present it. So the thing must be able to move. Most probably an actual thing.

I need some propellers and engine that is able to drive my product. The product is not really big. Maybe like a small barge.

Errrmmm... look at saturday's recruitment and see which are the oil & gas companies (from their hiring ads). Then call the companies up for quotes on your design specs.

 

I take it that you do have quite an extensive budget for this large scale prototype?

 

There's also something called yellow pages..... or search business listings for the components manufacturers.

Yes, but what I will be doing just requires some basic filtration concept. I am trying to make it into remote controlled so that it can be accessible to other places with just remote control. So I need to buy the engine with the propeller and know how to fix them.

that sounds more like a huge project than a final year thingie.....

then under same brand check for authorised distributor at sg by check internet..

 

the school budget for final year project is 500 bucks onli le what type of engine cost 500 ?

 

Or go to scrap yards, can buy old car engine or motorcycle engine den do

some mechanical fitting. propellers also scrap yards bah, cheaper can

go to johor scrap yards but diffcult to bring back singapore through

customs.

Also not say very huge project. Just the prototype, but the pumps must be able to work. The propellers everything also must be in working condition. Then I will be able to test it out in my school's towing tank.

My school budget is $1500. I am still thinking of the type of material to use for the hull of the thing, must not be too heavy, so that the engine will not be too big. Car engine too big already

1. Yes a mechanical device to prevent oil spill. Just doing the prototype, maybe the scale will be smaller, but it must be able to show what are the components in it. And how does it works this kind of thing

 

2. Because instead of leaving the device floating on water, I am planning to install some engines and some propellers with remote control that is able to control it and move it like a RC boat. Speed need not to be too fast or too slow. Just average speed will do. Engines need not be too powerful, I just need to move it, not put it into some kind of racing competition

 

3. Yes probably a smaller device with some scaling, maybe the actual one will be bigger. I will have to test it in our school's towing tank.

 

4. Yes so that I can control the device to access to areas where there are oil spills.

 

 

My budget given for this project is $1500.

 

And yes, it would be great if I can get some help from them. Since they have more experience that I do

BRO, i was the Pioneer in Unmanned Boat technology in the Navy....(Protector USV)

my boats are being used now for peace keeping missions and for NDP wayang.

 

PLS $1500 wont even get u the circuit for the remote!!!!

 

consider a scaled down model... can buy many cheap RC boats and do demo... actual boat without RC already cost 500K... RC system more complicated... at least 100K.

a divice that clean up oil spill ?

if car engine too big, i guess you should look at model shops to see if you can find any suitable engines..

 

if for POC only, not sure if really need full size replica...
