Nzy Twincharged June 3, 2011 Share June 3, 2011 (edited) i sometimes wonder how some bros here can last 3.5-4yrs...unless u drive alternate days or just crank 2 twice a day.park in indoor away from the sun peharps that might last so long! Nope. Maybe depends on luck. Mine parked under hot sun the whole day. Everyday crank 1 time to drive to camp and one time to drive home. So 2 times. Unless I stop somewhere halfway. Weekends then crank more. Maybe 5-6 times. But mine is stock. Everything stock including the head unit and speakers. No extra stuff that uses the battery. Sky61 1st Gear June 3, 2011 Share June 3, 2011 Anybody have experience with ultima or odessey batteries? They come with 5yrs warranty, small in size coz they compact all the lead cells together, and are suppose to be the top range in batt. Only down side is that it cost around 350-400 . Kb27 Supersonic June 4, 2011 Share June 4, 2011 Ya, my Varta near 2 years still going strong. But for the sake of coming long distance trip, I would like to change a new one. Imo, Varta Blue is not so good. Varta Silver is good. So don't just based on name alone, but also the model.
Club21z 4th Gear June 4, 2011 Share June 4, 2011 I think trane is one of the under-rated battery After installing for half yr, i did the battery test at shell auto and the equipment shows 100% life span. Not sure how accurate but at least some assurance. Battery review test report of few brands http://www.trane.com.sg/image/TM2009.pdf

Mr_w124 Neutral Newbie June 4, 2011 Share June 4, 2011 My w124 been using the same batt since i got the car. stamp on the batt says dec 06 which i assume was when it was changed. so far so good. taking a bit longer to crank now so might change it. prob is, there is no brand on the batt. just a black box. oh, and i have 2 amps, a sub n 4 comp speakers put in abt 2 yrs ago. Mr_w124 Neutral Newbie June 4, 2011 Share June 4, 2011 And yes. v impt that the batt sits properly in the bracket. my dad bought an 05 accent last yr. changed the batt with his previous car since he had just got the batt a month before that. the one he changed to was Amaron. good batt. but the car kept refusing to start once in a while cos the connections would have come loose during the drive. then have to pop the bonnet and knock the connection. aft a few months, that went away by itself. not sure y. also, is there any diff if we change to a bigger volt battery? someone told me that car would have more power but that doesnt make sense

Tigershark1976 Turbocharged June 4, 2011 Share June 4, 2011 (edited) Battery reputations and lifespans What is your view bros? Ranking 1, 2, 3 . 1. Amaron 2. Bosch 3. Vorta think should be varta instead of vorta? anyway, for me, amaron is also 1st place, the rest of the batt is more or less the same, around 2 yrs lifespan... Tigershark1976 Turbocharged June 4, 2011 Share June 4, 2011 most wont last a year or more, the branded one are god named sake, made somewhere up north, but German name, some nvr heard of before, hence the name/quality has been tarnished. I will follow AD brand and keep driving till it konk off, replace a suitable one with reliable one too, nowsday a branded one may not last the specific months/years of driving, the batt shelf-life has been shorten too. Oso dun know what really wrong, heard some dun need maintenance or top-up free . . . most batt I use can last min 2 yrs... what batt u use? care to share? so that members here can avoid.
